It's Darby time.... Open thread.
Man United leads Man City by 3 points with 3 games left. This game determine who wins the Premier League Title.

Man United Starting 11

Park Scholes Carrick
Evra (C) Jones Ferdinand Smalling

Edit: Evans not in due to injury replaces by Jones for Man United.
UNITED!!!!
The Blue revolution! Let's all do the Pozan!
Silva looks dangerous. It's gonna be a fun one.
Taking a long lunch break to watch the game! Hoping the right Manchester wins! :)
...although I wonder whether Fergie will pull back and play for the point
I don't think he's going to 'play for the point' unless it's tied after 85 minutes.
But he will flood the midfield and neutralize City's attack
I hate both teams... But this should be one hell of a game!
ugh for United.
Allows for a bit of creativity for Nani in that formation, but would have preferred to see Valencia and Young on the wings. Park will try to harry the City midfield, but Scholes and Carrick are going to be shredded by Tevez and Nasri.
Something is wrong with Silva; he's playing like 50% of what he was at the beginning of the year for City. Wouldn't surprise me to see him off to the OR at the end of the year.
Agreed, I think Valencia would have been a great addition to the lineup. With 4 regulars out of the starting lineup I think Man United is trying to get the 1 point they need from this game and get out of this game.
now that they're down, it will be interesting to see if Fergie brings in Valencia to start the second half...
Not a huge soccer fan, but you have to be able to appreciate the magnitude of this game. 650 million viewers worldwide is insane..
Not to be a dick but it is spelled Derby pronounced Darby.
English people talk funny. That is all.
Damn English speaking English all funny... Fixed.
Derby darby derby darby derby darby derby darby.
I'm hoping that City flame out the rest of the way and he gets fired. I don't like how he has handled Dzeko at all this year (admittedly bias view), the Balotelli, or Tevez situations. A manager with the roster he has at his disposable should in now way get eliminated at the Group Stage of the Champions League and not make the final 8 of the Eurocup.
oohh... early yellow for Komapny. You do not want that to happen to your defensive enforcer
He's been awful this year, but he's quite clearly the Man of the First Half. He has eaten Evra and company alive with his dribbling.
Total domination thus far by City, but hey...it's 0-0
Nasri has been a bit disappointing for City this season. The reason they are dominating United right now because United is blanketing David De Gea with defenders and not taking many chances to attack. They only need the draw so I don't think they're looking to push forward too much and leave their goalkeeper exposed.
Kompony with a header off a great corner. 1-0 City at half time.
Kompany comes through. Hopefully SAF tinkers with his hilariously geriatric lineup at halftime. Where the hell is Valencia? He's been Uniteds best player this season.
f*ck.
would hope valencia is the #1 player off the bench, young behind him.
United's strength is on the edges, none of our central midfielders are going to be able to get through the City center...
Man U needs to find their attack in the second half. Ever since their early-game surge, the time of possession has been owned by City.
Hope the second half is as entertaining as the first!
Giggs has not really done anything today. Can't run with the City midfield and not exactly holding well either
Walbeck in for Park
More traditional 442 with Giggs on the wing?
Forsee Valencia coming in for Giggs soon...
Rooney is in top form tonight it seems. He's everywhere amd seeng things the rest of his team isn't. He is also getting frustrated and calling out his own players.
Terrible effort from United. Poor line up to begin with. Park was dreadful. They never got their feet in the ground. City played much more defensive in the second half, but probably had the better chances too. All in all, for what was dubbed as the "biggest game in Premier League history," it was pretty mediocre entertainment.
The Glazers have totally f*cked United.
There is no reason the team with the 2nd largest revenue stream in Europe should have fielded that old a team for this kind of game.
Just awul.
Gratz City...
How is Ferguson's squad selection the Glazers' fault? The Glazers are to blame for a lot of things, but I don't think you can blame them for this match.
Paul Scholes had to come out of retirement to help bolster the midfield. In the last two years, the Glazers got to watch Barcelona absolutely tear through United's midfield of Carrick/Scholes/Giggs/Park. While they (Barcelona) have done this to most teams, this has been an area of need for over two years.
Silva? Manchester City.
Nasri? Manchester City.
Mata? Chelsea
Sneijder? Not enough money
Modric? Not enough money (and Spurs didn't want to lose him)
United will be better next year if Vidic comes back healthy (no more 2 or 3 goal collapses) but the collapse of the last month shows the lack of depth United have.
