OT: Big East Schedule Released
The Big East football schedule was released today. If you haven't been following the musical chairs that is college football, Temple will replace West Virginia in the Big East this season.
The schedule for all Big East teams can be found here.
That leaves the MAC with 13 teams (with Massachusetts effectively replacing Temple). Their schedule should be out later this week. For now, the non-conference slate of games for the MAC can be found here.

I just saw Arizona vs. Toledo to open the season and cringed. They say history repeats itself

If only this were the second year for RR at Arizona, that would probably be a hell of a game. The offense won't be ready in year one though, and there's not likely to be a hot MACtion 120 point explosion.

I had to click on the link to see who was actually in the Big East now given the amount of off-season conference movement we've seen. I'm sorry but that collection of football talent would be better named as the "Big Lot's Conference" or the "Dollar General's".

One of those teams is going to be playing in a BCS game?? My god!!

I have a feeling this will be the last year the Big East receives an automatic bid....

I thought the Big East should have lost their automatic bid years ago.
And this shows how much I know about the MAC. I didn't know Temple was even a member.
I think they were a football only member.

I can't wait until SU gets out of that shitshow. Blech.
Good thing we put together a non-conference schedule of four BCS-conference teams (Northwestern, USC in NYC, @ Minnesota, @ Missouri). Has any other school in the nation done that this year?

Tough non-conference schedule for sure. What are the chances Syracuse is bowl eligible, though?
The team is supposed to be much better next year. After 8-5 and winning a bowl in 2010, and starting 5-2 last year with an absolute beating of West Virginia, they lost their last five.
I'm cautiously optimistic. We'll have a senior QB, we were ravaged by injuries at the end of last year, we get our #1 receiver back, and we return most of the team, so we'll see.
Winning the N'western and Minnesota games are a must-have - that'd be 3-2 in non-conference if you assume losing to USC and @ Mizzou, so just 3-4 in-conference would do it.
Beating UConn, Temple, and Rutgers is key, no excuse for losing those games. Too many games were absolutely given away last year.
I think you mean 7-6.
That was 2011, not 2010, and to hell with the state of Ohio.

Syracuse wins for scheduling the toughest schedule: USC, Missouri, N'Western, and Minnesota and one cupcake.
Most other schools have 1-2 BCS games and then 2 MAC and 1-2 "Div 1-AA"
South Florida, however, has both FSU and MIami Fl. as their BCS games.
westerns chances against illinoius this year.Go Broncs
arent ya! Go to Champaign and witness drunken Illini fans refer to themselves as Illinoius, try it its fun
I've been to Champaign multiple times and my mother is an alumnus of Illinois. Never have I heard the term "Illinoius". Are you referring to the small segment of the population that pronounces the "s" in Illinois? If so, that's used by dumb people all over the country, not Illinois fans.
Speaking of technicalities, to call your mother an "alumnus" would be odd, unless she's undergone a sex change...
You and your alumnus mommy are experts on Illinois culture. If a small band of drunken Illinoius tailgaters equals the whole fanbase and alumni population as a whole .Nice work Dr Know it all
I see that Louisville and Kentucky get to square off in football this fall - that might still end up an 85-78-ish sort of game really.
As for the MAC schedule, I have to say that this is the first time that I have seen the University Of Tennessee at Martin on a Division I plate. Then again, it isn't every decade you play a team in the OVC.

I am booking my Orange Bowl arrangements for Temple as we speak.

The words Orange Bowl and Temple should never be in the same sentence. This is why we need a 16 Team playoff. I wouldn't have any problem giving the Big East Champ a shot but not the Orange Bowl under the current BCS system.
Temple is going to be back at its rightful place in the Big East crapper.
Big East football, so bad it even had to ask Temple to come back.
