but he deserves and I love the exposure for him and this program. I havent been on a high about football and basketball at the same time since the Fab Five through the 1998 season which ended with Tractor winning us the Big Ten Tournament and secruring the number 3 seed in March Madness. I am loving the new era of Michigan football and basketball.

I was on a flight during the game and didn't get to watch it, but one of the things I love about MGoBlog is I don't have to hunt around for Michigan sports news... someone is there to post a link to it. And Beilein definitely has the team heading in the right direction and is a class act. I enjoyed listening to him talk about the win and where the program is headed.

my 300th point to coach Beilien for bringing this program back to the level that we heard through all the Amaker years that we should be at. You my man are doing a great job and I hope this is your last coaching stop till you retire.

We're so lucky to have such great coaching staffs. Would anyone here want a different coach in football, basketball, or hockey? Makes me proud anytime I hear any of them speak and they're just so genuine.

coach Hutch also to coaches where this is not one coach we would rather have. I agree on Red, Hoke, and Beilien also like you said.

Add JP in lacrosse to that list. He's the man and has done so much for our lacrosse program it isn't funny.

as far as to add McFarland as a coach who I under no chance would want to replace. He is a great recruiter see the next 2 classes coming in, and has Michigan in the most diffacult conference in all of wrestling a top contender every year. I remember the one year like 2009 we went 0 for 9 in dual meets lost everyone that year. Then after going 0 for 9 to taking 2nd place in the nation at the national championships as a team.

Life is good right now if you like Michigan athletics. College sports is all about coaching and facilities and you know what, Michigan is absolutely stacked in that department. Dave Brandon deserves a lot of credit for this. GO BLUE!!

I think you have to go back a long way, before my time as a fan, to find when the Michigan basketball team has been led by a man who could win without compromising his or the school's integrity.
Good times.

Tommy Amaker deserves some credit if not a lot for getting the basketball program ready for a guy like John Beilien. I mean he had the talent it just seemed like everytime we should have taken the next step we just missed out. Winning two NIT titles and almost making the Tournament 3 times was a big reason we are where we are today. Just Amaker seemed to suck the life out of the stars the actually got worse each year after coming on big as a freshman or sophmore.

I'm excited to see what JB does with such a tall team next season. We are going to be so deep you have got to imagine one of the three incoming recruits will get a redshirt, probably Stauskas. I don't think Coach B has ever had so much talent and size on ANY of his teams before, and am interested to see how he tweaks his offense at all to take advantage. If he can get next years team to play solid defense and get the kinks worked out offensively in the nonconference portion of the schedule, awwwww man!! So excited for the next few years.
I really hope we can keep our coaching staff together for the next few years, especially Bacari Alexander because he is clearly a fantastic coach with Morgan's improvement being attributed mainly to him (and fantastic PG play, of course). He will definitely be a head coach in the very near future, just hope he sticks around for a little while. I could see him being the head man at Michigan one day.

First time poster. I consider myself very lucky to have been in high school in WV while John Beilein was head coach at WVU. This was the Gansey/Pittsnogle era. Having been born and raised in WV and experiencing the Lloyd Carr, Rich Rod, Brady Hoke/Tommy Amaker, John Beilein eras first hand as a student, I consider myself lucky to be so familiar with Beilein as an Alum now. Absolute class act and I hope he stays at UM until he retires. Honestly made me proud to be a West Virgininian when in high school, which is honestly not something you brag about except for collegiate sports.

but is it just me or does John Beilein sound like Alan Alda?

He's a little like AA. But it's all good. Just don't watch "The Four Seasons." AA talks about his epic "fantastic" hard-on. I wouldn't want my hoops coach to be explicit about the state of his schwantz. But this isn't the 70s either.

Michigan athletics has done very well under Martin. The facilities are top notch and Michigan athletics was able to get themselves into the black which is exactly why Michigan hired him. He hired JB and look where Michigan's at right now. He was the one who finally has his hands on the practice facility and Crisler renovations that has been planned before DB took over.
