TomVH holding a recruiting chat at ESPN.
Just wanted to let the board know that our old friend (and former MGBlog recruiting ninja) Tom VH is holding a live chat over on ESPN.

Is he wearing a vest?
December 12th, 2011 at 12:48 PM ^
Vest: yes
Pants: no

+5 for this comment? The thought of TomVH with no pants on must get people really excited.
(Ok, I admit, I upvoted this comment too.)

look at your pic....you're a cow with no pants on swinging on a pole and gyrating your utter....

this takes "hold me TomVH" to a whole new level.

Dunn no longer an EE! Not sure how to read that one...
December 12th, 2011 at 12:52 PM ^
he does this weekly IIRC.
December 12th, 2011 at 12:53 PM ^
We only talk about recruiting editors that blog for this site...lol
Anyway, not a fan of Dunn holding off the EE. I think this helps Ohio. I see him going with his heart and sticking with OSU.
December 12th, 2011 at 1:09 PM ^
This wasn't Dunn's decision. This was something to the effect of he wasn't able to get everything he needed completed in time.
December 12th, 2011 at 1:03 PM ^
who was that!? lol. show yourself.
December 12th, 2011 at 1:07 PM ^
Yeah, I LOL'd when I saw that, too. Had to be an MGoBlogger.

Is there anything better than a Sanders' Bumpy Cake?

Nothing.

Tom (Columbus, OH)
O-H-!
Tom VanHaaren (12:01 PM)
Your i is upside down and you forgot the O
December 12th, 2011 at 1:23 PM ^
"Has the chat started?"
TomVH: Nope.
December 12th, 2011 at 2:17 PM ^
That reminded me how stupid Ohio state fans are. Unfortunately some of the responses to it in the comment section reminded how stupid commenters on ESPN.com are.
Come back TomVH, you don't deserve this. We can have two recruiting Ninjas considering how well this staff is recruiting.
December 12th, 2011 at 1:42 PM ^
I would have asked what his alias is on MGoBlog.
December 12th, 2011 at 1:51 PM ^
I asked if he still posted on Mgoblog, didn't make it thru the moderator

not thread worthy but I'm curious, is Devin Gardner a redshirt freshman or a true sophomore this year? For some reason I thought last year was going to count as a redshirt.
Anyone know for certain?
December 12th, 2011 at 2:50 PM ^
They filed for his redshirt, but they won't know if he's granted the redshirt until he's a senior. Stupid. It also means that people will be asking this question for 2 more years...
December 12th, 2011 at 2:50 PM ^
I don't think that it will matter much at the end of the day. From what I hear, that Denard kid who doesn't tie his shoes has a legit shot at taking over the starting job from Forcier, so we are stacked there, regardless.
December 12th, 2011 at 2:51 PM ^
But he'll apply for the medical redshirt (and it's been said he'll get it) so you can consider it him a RS.
However, if he comes out after next year or 2013...it really won't matter so I believe the NCAA doesn't cross that bridge until you need the waiver.
December 12th, 2011 at 2:54 PM ^
I'm assuming that he will get a 5th year if he wants it. Really comes down to if Shane Morris is as advertised, if it looks like Shane is goign to overtake DG his sophmore year i'm sure DG will just go to the draft and see what happens.
December 12th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
If Deniv is good enough to "just go to the draft" I assume that Hoke and Borges will want him to stick around and probably start. Devin has three years left if he gets the RS. At most, he overlaps Shane by 2 years. The first would be Shane's redshirt (won't it be nice to not play true freshmen QBs anymore). The second could make for a Tebow / Leak situation (no similarities between them and Devin / Shane, just an example of a successful rotation), where Devin is the clear starter, but Shane is too good to ride the pine so Shane gets some meaningful snaps. The trup upside of this is that when that season is over (2014), shane has 3 years left and has had two years to get bigger, stronger, more mechanical and just better and to adjust to the speed of the college game. We could be stacked at QB for the next 6 years.
