A quick check of cars.com for Chrysler 300's (2007's, '08's & '09's) in Columbus, OH (75 mile radius from 48035) shows the least expensive versions, with a 2.7l engine, which the 300C does not have, begin at $18,000.  The mileage on those vehicles are close to 30,000 as well.  So, yeah, $13K sounds awfully cheap.

Here's lookin' at you, Buckeyes!

Spielman is a known Michigan homer.  Just like Herbstreit, Eddie George, and... well, I suppose just about everyone else who has expressed an opinion about this.

The more I read about the OSU program under Tress, the more I think that if there is any justice in the world, these guys will be vacating wins going back several years, will receive scholarship reductions, will have a 3-4 year bowl ban and will have to fire the Vest.

Just look at the number of alleged incidents out there:

1.  Tat gate - Tress KNOWINGLY allows players who have violated NCAA rules (and are therefore ineligable) to play half a season.  Tress KNOWINGLY lies to the NCAA - on multiple occasions - and (not sure if this helps or hurts) doesn't even tell OSU compliance.

2. The cars, the cars - There have been allegations relating to cars going back to Mo Clarrett.  It appears that Mo - who had his allegations dismissed as the ramblings of a disgruntled, somewhat crazy and self-serving individual - was on to something.  If they do a real investigation, I would bet that the number of "sweetheart" deals is staggering.  Just look at TP - multiple times, he was pulled over in different cars, all from the SAME dealership, and allegedly he was on test drives each times.  Because I know that when I was 18 or 19, dealers would have freely given me cars to test drive, across state lines, for several days as a time.  Of course, dealers generally allow test drives when they are in the process of selling cars - did these dealers really believe that TP (coming from a modest financial background) was going to purchase these luxury cars?

3.  AJ Hawk's bag o cash - because when I was in college, I regularly kept thousands of $ in cash in my apartment.  Clearly, nothing to see here.

4.  T. Smith's alleged recruiting violations - so long ago that I forgot the substance, but if I recall, there may have been prostitutes involved.

5.  Mo Clarrett

How is it even remotely possible that the NCAA has allowed this to go on for so long without even conducting a serious investigation?  Hopefully, now that there has been publicity, the NCAA will have no choice but to come down hard to save face in light of their recent wrist-slaps for Cam Newton and the Tat 5 (Fiesta).

OSU used to be known as the Graveyard of Coaches--esp when Woody took the job.

Now, think back.....

Tressel--possibly fired

Cooper--fired

Bruce--fired

Hayes--fired

etc

Notre Dame is the place coaches go to be "one or two years away from playing in a national title game."

It is then the place coaches leave three to five years later as "the one thing that was preventing the team from playing in a national championship game for the last two or three years."

A bit of a puff, sure.  But his final season at Notre Dame was awfully good.  He had no running game, no defense.  Threw for 300+ yards per game (including 2 games over 400 yards), 28 TDs and 4 INTs, 68% completion percentage.  This is against defenses that knew they were going to throw every down.

I actually think he'll make a good pro.  He was awful last year, but he was awful his first year at ND.  In a few years I think he'll be pretty good.  Slow learner.  He can read defenses, find the open receiver, and deliver the ball accurately.

All I'm saying is that the longer this thing draggs on the better and better it becomes for us. This thing may end with some slaps on the wrist as we really dont know, however the longer it goes and the deeper the NCAA digs the better off we are. It seems as though every week or two there is another revelation and the negative spotlight just continues to shine.

In a down year of scholarship availability You would think that kids who really want to attend OSU would be committing all over the place (Much like at Mich right now!!!!)  The reality is though . . .

Frank Epitropoulos (LEGACY) - 04/26/2011

Doesnt it strike anyone as "suspicious" that 50 athletes most WITHOUT incomes purchase cars from ONE SINGLE dealership...not to mention that out of state familiy members as well? WHY would out of state relatives buy a car from a columbus dealership UNLESS they were given special deals?  What are the odds of 50 diff athletes all going to one dealership?

Weve all suspected this was going on in Columbus for years..there were lot of rumors and highly questionable incidences every since Tressel came into town..

face it..theyve been caught red handed and there DESPERATE to keep Tressel because winning is really all that matters there..
