Good news for him is that the intentions didn’t match the outcome, so he could end up with one of the many Bears out there. https://twitter.com/william_apache8/status/1155981481631596546?s=21

I'm guessing defining his role was part of the conversation Yaklich had with Smart and the AD. I hope he stays, but if he leaves, I wish him nothing but the best.

From all of the profiles…

From all of the profiles going around, it sounds like Howard functioned as Miami's defensive coordinator. If Yaklich stayed, he'd probably have to relinquish some of his autonomy in controlling the defense. I can see looking for a different situation.

Those two things and…

Those two things and Pittsnogle.

It's more of a reflection of his ability to innovate and, with Yaklich especially, let someone else lead.

The redshirt changes seem directly connected with this trend. One of my reasons for interest in bowls is being able to (potentially) get a glimpse of important players for next year.

Last year's take

This mailbag from Ace looks like last year's version of this post. Impressive foresight as a good chunk of the current class is mentioned.

"Luckily, Michigan is off to a strong start in the recruitment of Paramus (NJ) Catholic's Rashan Gary, the #2 overall prospect on the 247 Composite."

I'm a Red Bulls fans and watched most of Henry's games - he absolutely didn't treat it like a retirement league. He avoided most games on turf for health reasons, but he was Harbaugh-ishly competitive.

Rafa Marquez on the other hand treated MLS like shit.

As a follow-up, if current

As a follow-up, if current players were allowed (even limited) marketing rights, there wouldn't be so many awful commericals starring coaches during the tournament.

It's not a fallacy at all.

It's not a fallacy at all. College basketball players are generating enormous revenue and are economically limited in a number of ways: sharp restrictions on transfers, forbidden from marketing their image, etc. The last one is particularly important, because many college athletes have huge local profiles. For example, after the championship game last year, Spike would have been a prime candidate for local marketing.

The NCAA is a bizarre form of anti-worker socialism.

I glanced at his twitter.

I glanced at his twitter. While tweeting at recruits is always creepy, professionals who use their full names tweeting at recruits is particularly bad.

https://twitter.com/BillBiddle1 is "Executive Director of the Ferguson Center for the Arts" but spends all his spare time tweeting at high schoolers.
