Also sent the link to my wife who's a kindergarten teacher. Hoping she'll get each of her kids to do one as a homework assignment.

This is brilliant.
It's a shame most of the kids he's recruiting have probably never even heard of Office Space, let alone watched it.

This is exactly where I'm at and have been for the last 5-6 years. I dropped out of college after 3 years because I couldn't get another loan to continue with school (not even with a co-signer) and couldn't afford to keep paying for it myself. Since then, I have worked my way into an insurance position where finishing my degree won't actually affect my job status or how much I make. So while I would love to say "I'm a college graduate", financially it makes no sense.

Not gonnna lie, I totally read this as "Brown's 2015 Record vs the Spread". Needless to say, I was a little disappointed when I opened the thread.

Last week when the post to send him a card went viral, I wanted to send something as it's the least I could do for such a brave young boy. At the same time, I struggled with what to say.
I read on the foundation website under the bio tab that he was an animal lover. I ended up just sending him a picture of my golden retriever puppy and introducing him to Chad. Ended the card by saying that I hoped Maize (our dog) brings a smile to his face today.

I read this story this morning too actually. I can still remember when the whole Carruth trial was going on. Fascinating story about overcoming tragedy.
Also, what a powerful message about forgiveness. Something I think we can all learn from.

...but it appears you skipped #6, so technically you didn't get to #26.
Great piece nevertheless. Looking forward to many more of these throughout the Harbaugh era.

That Tara Reid story really explains a lot.
As Elaine Benes once said, "Another piece of the puzzle falls into place."

Continued prayers for the Carr family. May they find some sliver of peace and comfort.
|14 weeks 4 days ago||Convinced||
I just told my wife the other night that I'm convinced they put an attractive female on every show just to get men to watch. Between Jo Jo and the girl on "Flip or Flop" (and the fact we're about to start house shopping) I have been watching a lot of HGTV lately.
|14 weeks 4 days ago||Agreed||
For the longest time, ESPN was, for the most part, the only channel I really watched. But when the A-Rod, Favre, Tebow storylines were covered ad nauseam it became too much to handle. Combine that with terrible "jounalists" in Stephen A, Bayless, etc and I don't watch anything they offer with the exception of live games and the occassional 30 for 30.

My wife's birthday is Wednesday so she's well aware of the bye week ("Wife Day"). Sounds like we're going to take the dog and go hiking. Probably to Boone or Lake Lure, NC. Budget is tight, so I'm at least confident there won't be any shopping going on.

It's on my U-Verse. Channel 603 I believe. I was watching this during my lunch break. Unfortunately, i had to head back to the office right after the onside kick recovery.

My sister-in-law is graduating in December from BGSU with her Marine Biology degree. She is honestly one of the smartest people I know when it comes to animals. It's insane to me how she can recognize the differences in fish that at first glance look identical.

That's either a comical twist on the Hook & Latter play name, or one hell of an auto-correct.
Given that "hook" isn't upper-case and the rest is, I'm going with the auto-correct.

2004 Purdue - kid from my HS was Purdue's starting LG at the time. Got a press pass from our local newspaper to sit in the pressbox while my dad took photos from the sideline.
Now that I live in NC, I plan on making the trek up to DC when they're @ Maryland. Unfortunately due to a wedding, it won't be this year.
Also plan to be at the VA Tech series in a couple years. Short drive and my sister-in-law went to Med school at Tech so it'll be well worth it.
|27 weeks 2 days ago||Awful||
Candlestick was awful yes, but I still maintain that the Oakland Colisseum is worse. But to be honest, it's like debating which Buckeye is smarter. At somepoint you just have to agree they're both idiots and move on.
|27 weeks 2 days ago||This is the answer||
Absolutely. It's not even close really. The Colisseum is an absolute dump. A close 2nd is Candlestick Park, but since they just tore that place down I'll give it a slight pass.

Boy, you've hit some of the best of in the area. I haven't had a chance to play Pinehurst yet, though it's on my bucket list for sure. However, from what I hear living down here, you've picked the two best courses they've got. In fact, a lot of people down here are convinced #8 is better than #2, it just doesn't get the attention because #2 hosts the championships.
Dormie Club is phenomenal. But I'm a sucker for the old classic Donald Ross designs. He and MacKenzie are my two favorite architects and, in my opinion, you can never go wrong playing one of their courses.
Tobacco Road is supposed to be good. Although I hear it's a little goofy. Lots of blind shots, large slopes, target golf, etc. As my brother-in-law told me though, if you have the mindset going in that you're going to get some funny bounces and things aren't always going to be straight-forward, the course is a lot of fun.
Other great courses in the area:
Mid-Pines Golf Club - 1921 Donald Ross design hosted a number of USGA events
Pine Needles Golf Club - 1927 Donald Ross design, hosted 3 US Womens Opens
Legacy Golf Links - Nicklaus design...really fun course with a tough finishing stretch
Enjoy the trip! And seriously, enjoy the village of Pinehurst. Lots of really cool, unique golf shops with merchandise you won't find anywhere else. Oh, and eat at the Holly Inn. One of the best burgers in the Pinehurst area and only a short walk from the Pinehurst Resort.
Sorry the lengthy response. Golf nerd/former pro here. Could go on all day. haha

The Ryder Cup Lounge in the Carolina Hotel is a great place.
Enjoy Pinehurst. It's awesome. Even my wife who is the anti-golfer, loves Pinehurst. Very quaint little village.
Out of curiosity, which courses are you planning on playing? Lots of great facilities around that area.

Skip Oakland and just go to another game in SF. ATT Park is one of the best in baseball and the Coliseum is hands down the worst.

My wife and I just got a golden retriever puppy ( in early March) and we named him Maize. That name may be more fitting for a golden retriever or yellow lab than a dachsund though.

As a native West sider I generally root for all teams from the West side to win. However, my wife is an SMCC alum, so I'm rooting hard for the Falcons to pull off the upset.
