All great suggestions! Since I can't really add too the Civil War content, I will add an American history must - Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown are great to see. Great information and great museums.
The Civil War circuit is on my list to do so I'm glad you posted.
As a reactionary Michigan fan, scapegoating Warde Manuel is 100% accurate - because things ARE negative. If the opposite (positive) were true, he wouldn't be a scapegoat.
I'll say this again, I'm sure he's a great person, but that doesn't always equate to being successful at your job.
He can recruit. He can coach. Has (state of) Michigan ties. Has a long list of staff members that he can bring in if there is a mass exodus of coaches.
2 - Drinkwitz - Missouri
He's young. He can develop. He can recruit in the south. He can beat osu.
3 - Fleck - Minnesota
He's young. He's a player's coach. I think he would be able to recruit fairly well with the resources at Michigan. He had a lot of success at WMU. He's had some issues at Minnesota, It would be a gamble, but no more of a gamble than Moore.
I do wish Coach Moore ALL of the success when he becomes Michigan head coach. I certainly do like him and I don't want this post to sound negative.
Has Warde made a good hire since becoming the AD? Women's basketball, maybe? If Jim leaves, it's a failure on Warde to keep him. I'm not saying that Warde is a bad person, but at some point it needs to be argued whether or not he is a worthy AD at Michigan.
So, I'm in both camps but I feel that Jim would like to stay. ( that's my gut feeling as I have no idea what Jim is thinking)
I'm a golf course Superintendent in Oakland County and I wish the public (even though mine is a private club) would stay the hell off of golf courses! I'm not too thrilled about my staff having to come in and take care of the property, just because people are getting restless.
Why are so many people saying that bowl games are meaningless? Just because talking heads on ESPN (TV and radio versions) are saying they're meaningless, doesn't mean fans have to regurgitate their illogical BS. Nobody on this blog or on a media network is currently on a roster that is getting ready to play in a game. I assure you, the games have meaning for the players who choose to play in them. Who cares if players sit out; the team is a hell of a lot more important than the player - and it's by a landslide. Sure, some teams show up and some don't, but it's like that throughout the regular season (OSU vs Purdue) as well.
The media only cares about these "meaningless" games when there's a storyline - like Auburn crushing Purdue or Harbaugh losing another big game, otherwise they can care less.
There's no doubt that the OSU game took a lot out of us as fans but I've never seen/heard so many people not be interested in Michigan having a chance to win 11 games.
We're just fans. Enjoy the moment and route for your team.
(I'm not implying that the OP is being negative or not interested in tomorrow's game, just wanted to share my thoughts on the bowl games)
My thoughts are this - keep your damn mouth shut before the game!! I'm not one to bash amateur athletes, but when I heard some of our players make comments about Notre Dame, I couldn't help to think how stupid that was. If the difference in talent between you and your opponent is razor thin or equal, why on earth would you say anything to elevate their gameplay. It's ok to acknowledge that your opponent may be better than you - especially when you're coming off an 8-5 season.
The loss stings a little bit but I'll never not route for this or any other Michigan team.
I graduated from Vassar in '88 with Frankenmuth's current head coach. Munger had some pretty good teams when he was there. We were 7-7 at halftime but lost 21-7.

I'm going to go way outside of the box here.

I went through the same thing a few months ago. It was tough on me for a bit, but it was and continues to be very hard on my wife.
My thoughts and prayers go out to them.
Agreed
The one where we win our next 2 games
Haven't watched ESPN in ages. It didn't take this to realize that The Athletic and ESPN are trash.
It is closed.

No offense.
Thank you! I totally agree.

That's my rant. Pile on.
