alluded to this earlier, but OSU needs bodies in a big way on the OL, which is where you're seeing most of these unrated guys. holding out for big name out of state O-linemen is how they ended up with an OL class of 1 for 2010. OSU does not have a stellar history of putting OL in the NFL - so if you are a 4/5 star OL who isn't from ohio, why would you go there? they did manage to pull shugarts from TX and brewster from FL in 08 but that is the exception to the rule for OSU - they are 2 of only 4 scholarship OL from OOS. taking the low-hanging fruit in-state is really what they should have been doing all along; this year they have been forced into that strategy due to the numbers. i wouldn't shed any tears for OSU's 2011 recruiting rankings though ... some big-time talent in OH this year, most of which will likely end up in columbus. |

OSU loses 5 OL after this coming year. having only pulled 1 in the latest recruiting class, they only would have 9 scholarship OL in the fold going into 2011; they need numbers and they need them badly. some of their OL recruits may also get a shot a DL, so they are not definitely not done taking bigs. walker will follow the marcus hall recruiting blueprint - take all of his visits, declare the school he just visited as 'co-leader' with OSU, then verbal for the buckeyes in december-january. for your sake, direct any brain cells you would have dedicated to his recruitment to other pursuits. if walker by some miracle goes blue, count it as found money. |

no last-ditch offers (a la kenny guiton last year). 2 schollies available. still long shots for latwan anderson (unsigned, though depending on who you ask that ship may have sailed) and if you really want to reach, seantrel henderson (technically unsigned and supposedly waiting to hear what the NCAA will hand down to USC) |

... on the details of the personnel denlinger is gone. http://www.mililanibuckeye.net/class_breakdown_by_position.php gibson was very productive but they are up to their ears in depth at rush end/LB types. heyward would be the much bigger blow - his ability to play both the tackle and end positions, and play them well, allowed them to do so many different things with their fronts this year. |

you know, some day, osu's day of reckoning will come. this is inevitable. there will be a day when osu loses to M, when osu misses a bowl game, etc etc. i hope when that day comes, i will not be as pathetic as the M fans on this site who look for any chink in the armor (see: posts comprised of dubious and hasty critiques of osu's defense, posts rejoicing in the various shortcoming of specific osu players, posts celebrating an osu recruiting loss, and so on and so forth.) i hope that my thoughts will turn to the eventual rejuvenation of my own chosen team and not grasp at the straw of my rival's occasional missteps. i hope that i will be able to find joy in whatever successes and hopes my team can provide, and not solely from the pain (real or imagined) that my enemy may be experiencing. i hope. i hope ... oh, and as to the dirtiness of osu's program ... one of the rivals is under ncaa investigation, and one is not. happy new year to you all. |

if you consider getting sucker-punched whilst at a bar with your family a 'bar fight' you are exactly right. the confusion seems to result from an initial report that he was injured during 7-on-7's ... and then espn.com put out a story yesterday that he was hurt while in his home town of cincy |

maybe you'd also like to point out that the PD link explains the plate confusion.
"It's also true the plates on Worthington's vehicle did not match his registration. This is a fact that escaped me in my original story, but has since caused some chatter. What exactly does that mean? wow, research instead of unfounded speculation! |
