A few weeks ago at the gym I was talking to Jason McCourty, who signed with Cleveland a couple months back.  He basically said some of the same things.  Stated Jabrill was very smart in picking up the defense, has good athleticism, but what is holding him back some is that he didn't have the repetitions at Michigan just playing safety. Thinks he'll get there, just needs a little time.  I wouldn't be surprised to see him start the year with the 2s, but move into the starting lineup partway through the year as he gets more comfortable.

Met President Clinton while a student at Dearborn back in the early 90s while he was visiting campus.  Asked one of the Secret Service members if he knew my cousin, who was also an agent assigned to Clinton's detail and that was apparantly enough for a quick handshake and 30 seconds of small talk.

Also met ex swimsuit model Nikki Taylor about 8 years ago, who used to work out at the same fitness center as I here in Tennessee.  I once held open the door for her and got a smile and a thank you that made my knees wobble. Also have met many  of the professional athletes who play for the Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators over the years there.

Back in middle school, went to a WCW wrestling event at Cobo and snuck backstage beforehand.  Got to see the Four Horsemen pull up in their limo and see Ric Flair get out and give his standard "WOoooo".  Shook hands with a couple of them.

And I sat next to ex UFC Heavyweight Champ Mark Coleman in the early 2000s on a flight back from Japan.  He had 3 seats reserved in general class and a seat in first class for the better food.  Once he got up to eat and was gone for a bit, a guy tried to sit down in his seats. Mark had asked me to look after them while he was away.  I told the guy those seats were taken by a really large guy who might be the baddest dude on the planet (at the time).

Overal they're fine.  I would prefer the Jumpman logo moved higher on the shoulder so there is more separation between the logo and numbers.  Seems like something that could easily be done in future seasons.  Anyway, in 10 years we'll look back at these as the uniforms Peppers/Butt/Lewis etc. wore.

I've gotten used to little

I've gotten used to little sleep.  A typical night is something like this.

my 3 year old -- "Mom, Dad, I need you".  Get to her room and hear "Can you put in a new DVD for me?"

Luckily the 2 year old sleeps like a baby, however....

at 3am, one of the two dogs may be looking me straight in the eye until I wake up to let them out which always leads to...

the cat walking around my head wanting to be fed

and at 4:55 the alarm clocks goes off. at that point I can't really snooze as the cat has digested his early am meal and made a deposit in the litter box that is starting to spread through the house.  as I've gotten older I'm really starting to see the similarities between my life and Clark Griswalds.

I can't forget my 3 year old

I can't forget my 3 year old daughter telling my wifre that she can't wait to "get boobs like mommy when I get bigger".   Meanwhile my 2 year old son hugs his Michigan Football each night before bed and says "Go Bue".  Still having trouble pronouncing "L".

So recently my 3 year old

So recently my 3 year old daughter and 2 year old son got in a brawl with each other at the sitters house.  She sat them down and gave my daughter a talk on how she needs to look after her little brother since he's a year and a half younger.  An hour later my son somehow gets in a fight with a 4 year old boy and has wrapped up the boys legs going for a double leg takedown.  My daughter sees what's going on and procedes to deliver a flying shoulder tackle to the boy and they both pounced on him while the sitter was frantically trying to separate them.  I know it's horrible, but I had to like them looking out for each other.

He'll have a good week of practice but won't execute during the interview.

He wouldn't be my number 1 or 2, but living here in TN I've been very impressed with what he's done.

Tennessee was a dumpster fire when he arrived, having gone through Kiffin/Dooley for 4 years.  Dooley neglected to recruit any o-linemen his last two years so Tennessee was the only team in the country without a returning starter this year on the offensive and defensive line.

He's recruited great, and young players are making a huge impact.  A true freshmen Defensive End (Barnett) has 9 or 10 sacks this year.  The team showed improvement almost every week, and he is great in terms of interacting with fans and alumni.  Could do much worse.
