1) There will definitely be some kids that would prefer to play one more game for a chance not to be winless. Whichever team wins will celebrate. Love of the game is just as true for bad players as it is for good players.
2) What about this year suggests to you that the discomfort and suffering of hundreds (or perhaps only tens) of people should outweigh the enjoyment and entertainment of thousands (or maybe even millions)? If the Big 10 is comfortable exposing these kids to a potentially life threatening disease, of course they are comfortable with exposing them to a little humiliation.
Are we sure that the error is not Feinstein's? Has anyone ever heard Harbaugh incorrectly use the phrase before? Not saying he's perfect, but I can imagine Harbaugh saying it correctly and Feinstein writing it down wrong.

I find the suggestion that she didn't think through her own actions extremely rude and upsetting. For you to dismiss her emotional trauma as a "whim" is disgusting and I think you should retract your statement. They should definitely suspend him from all pre-season games next year. That would prove that they're not going to put up with these kinds of serious shenanigans. The NFL is serious!

Ole Miss’s class wasn’t as big of a deviation as has been claimed
Doesn't the fact that only the top end is what is unique about Ole Miss’s class and that the rest of the class fits with historical norms suggest that it has nothing to do with Hugh Freeze? If Mr. Freeze was a good recruiter would not you expect the entire class to be above average? It seems to me that "some genuine fluky connections surrounding some of their top signees" and "Benjamins" can explan Ole Miss's ability to draw elite level recruits in a way that "Hugh Freeze is a good recruiter" cannot.
I have no idea what impact this has on athletic eligibility, but I had a classmate get expelled from HS with less than week left after being accepted early to Yale. He had to take a year off, but then he was allowed to attend. I think he made it a little over a year at Yale before he was expelled from there as well.
Could the NCAA suspend him for conference games instead of (basically) meaningless non-conference games that OSU is sure to win? Isn't that what happened to the Bball coaches at UConn and Tenn? Seems much more meaningful.
