I thought we had a 5 start commitment. No, it's not a Hello post, but still, I was disappointed when I learned it was only a top-4. Yes, I'm happy we made the top 4 unexpectedly.
Stanford went 11-2 and 12-2 in 2011 and 2012 with Shaw, but arguably that was in part due to the trajectory Harbaugh put the team on. I think anyone given the choice would choose Harbaugh over Shaw as their head coach (SF likely excepted...). When you look at three straight 11+ win seasons at the end of the Harbaugh Program Upgrade, it implies we should expect 10+ win seasons consistently at M with an occasional 8-9 win season thrown in (downgrade 1 win due to Big Ten versus Pac 12 comparison, Big Ten East is tough conference division).
I hear a lot of doom and gloom in the comments and coaching candidate posts. But there was some school - in a bordering state, can't remember which - that hired a no-name head coach from youngstown state. I think he worked out OK for them. The fact that we can't easily identify a hot name right now that would be perfect doesn't mean the next coach will be horrible.
Why was the initial win percentage for Michigan 50% at kickoff? If I recall correctly, we were favored by 35 points. Being a 35 point favorite is inconsistent with a coin-flip chance of victory when the game begins.
Seems like our win percentage should have started from 80-90% and gone upward from there. The chart scale would have had to be adjusted to look more interesting, but wouldn't that have painted a more accurate picture of the game?
It would be great to see the number that each of the 3-point makes represents for the game. I wasn't sure halfway through if I had looped back to the beginning, or if I was watching new shots.
Along those same lines (missed penalty), is it a face mask penalty if you block someone in the face mask? On their successful 4th and 11 play, which led to their td, i think it was boykins had his hands all over the defender's face mask and there was no call.
They say that negative emotions are stronger than postive ones. Which explains why I am going to bed disappointed osu won, rather than happy Michigan beat purdue.
I should watch more food network; even when the wrong side wins the iron chef I am not this annoyed.
more precisely, "regression to the mean" is a descriptive concept in that it only describes things after the fact. Of course I agree that it does not cause anything. There is no magic force in the universe striving to make things average out to what they averaged in the past.
(please consider everything that follows as prefaced by "probably") That the NCAA can "ask" is right to the extent that they cannot legally compel, ie subpoena, the documents from osu. If osu does not comply, based on the contracts, etc. between the ncaa and osu, the ncaa can sanction osu however they deem appropriate, subject to the appeal process that usc just lost.
That's not _that_ much money that a college student can't own it or have gotten it as a gift. But in these circumstances, it just looks like a silk (or whatever) version of driving a new car to the team meeting yesterday.
Lloyd brady pictures are funny but please don't put him on EDSBS. Instead of biakabutuka "michigan is awesome" (remember?), it says "michigan has goofy a fan that looks like jim carrey" (who cares?).
Is there anything out there evidencing a conversation or contact between Michigan/DB and Hoke? Or is it literally 100% media speculation? I can't read 10 words on espn without seeing something about Hoke "being in the mix" for the top job. http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/37721/michigan-closing-in-on-the-hat
I hate the fact that he calls RR's offense "basketball on grass..." Denard leaving and getting Hoke as the next HC -- doom.
This might not be the place for this question, but what is the update on Byron Moore? Seems like it'd be great to pick him up, but I can't find much on the interwebz about where he stands. I think Rivals' last update is that he re-committed to USC in 2009. Not helpful.
I hope Michigan is better than Iowa but I don't think it's true. Unless maybe the betting line / odds favor us in that matchup ? That's about the only justification I can think of now...Iowa can score points AND play defense, which is more than I can say for Michigan unfortunately. ESPN's bigten power rankings still have iowa ahead of michigan and iowa really only played one bad half in their loss this year...but then again, we did barely lose to Iowa last year, too. And that was before the Denardening...

Is it normal to have only 1 center on the entire roster? Someone falls on his ankle wrong, and we don't have any other centers who would step in?
Y-axis should start at 0.
Where did Brian say that?

That is a great tag, but I'm holding out for "Tim Drevno evil genius." Given that Borges even got the tag (http://mgoblog.com/content/upon-further-review-2013-offense-vs-notre-da…) I hope it comes for Drevno this year.
the answer is obvious, I know. But what does "G5" mean? I get power 5 conference = p5.
That's it? M has money, needs a coach; Harbaugh wants money, is a good coach. Seems like a good match

Doesn't this whole episode constitute cause to fire Brandon and avoid continuing to pay him after he's gone? Same with Hoke?
I just want to say thank you for the white boxes in the videos telling me who I'm supposed to watch. Small detail, big improvement.

"When they play Michigan: Look at your quantity of available whiskey. It is insufficient. Acquire more whiskey."
Awesome, accurate, wise.

Interesting game to watch on TV. We rarely play Florida. I live in Dallas so I can go to a game without flying back to Michigan.
Also, if home and home series were better financially, wouldn't DB do it?
Do we know that the Michigan coaching staff cooled on Treadwell, or did he cool on MIchigan for some reason?
Or are we just speculating on what happened?

I only have a vague idea of precisely what a "qb-oh-noe" is...can anyone help?
scribd says the document has been deleted...

+1 for an awesome comment!

Right. Just look at Alabama, they're screwed right now. Bad teams, bad future prospects. Oh wait...
