Woodson for sure. I played at

Woodson for sure. I played at Toledo Whitmer. His senior year at Fremont Ross he was held out in the first half vs us. We went into halftime up 7-6. Woodson show ensued and we lost 42-7. I seem to remember him scoring everytime he touched the ball on Offense, Defense and special teams.

Comme c'est intéressant!

Ummmm....act like we've done it before?

We haven't. At least not since Celine Dion was awesome.

He likes offense....

HALOL
Funny thing is...

I would buy your ticket on stub hub, go to the game, hate the thongs you have stated, but love watching my beloved team play in the big house, go home and be ready to do it again. Thus still having 110,000+ for everygame.

Y dis so hard??

Yes...too funny stuff.

So.....

GERG ran a break, but don't bend defense?

Come to think of it his hair never bent either.....

Ummm....

Do you agree that if we had played the first half in the "spread" offense, that it would have been a 28 point much quicker? We would have all had a different feeling about this game if this were the case. Remember that this coaching staff is still learning what they have here, and that they have shown the flexibility to adapt to it. If they figure out the correct balance of "spread" and "pro" (which I believe that the pro set is an important part of our attack-especially in the red zone), this offense can indeed become ridiculously dangerous.

better...

y dis so hard?

Last Year

I think that last year denard set up everything the offense was about, and this year he is bailing the offense out of everything it is about.

OMG

Boom, Hoke'd

Brian I know how you feel. I.too fell I'm love with the intricacies of the spread-n-shred....to the point that I thought I would not "enjoy" Michigan football as much as I have over the last few years. Even though M was loosing, I was entranced by the strategery and excitement of it all. I honestly thought that my addiction to mgoblog would subside. Then Mattison, then Borges turned into a guy loves Denard as much as I do, now I am a card carrying Hokemaniac, and I read the blog and follow M football as close as ever. I love the kids on this team and I really hope they can stay healthy, as a group, and show us all what that can do.

Karsch

Must be like 6'8" or at least I hope...we can't have a LB coach that is 5'5"

This.^^^^ yes.

Nice

Ahhhh. Yes.

These are the reasons I love this site...great ideas. Keep them coming.

EA

Since when did EA change the speed ratings to a 0-95 scale?

dammit....double post....but it is worth a second look

NO...It is a beautiful sight....

We could argue until we are

We could argue until we are blue in the face about what RR "should have" have done while he was restocking his cupboard. I guess all I can say is my belief is that RR is a "different" kind of coach. Sure Jim tressel can take any team of 4-5 star kids and average 10.5 wins/year (maybe luck into a MNC 1 time per decade)...but I still think RR, after givin time to fill the team with his specific talent (he is very specific in what his O is designed to be) he cou;ld even more succesfull than that. I cannot get angry at him for having so much confidence in HIS system...he created it and it worked for him everywhere he has coached.

I do, however, think that he may have been a little cocky and thought that it would work much faster here at M and I believe this is why he has not cltered his system. I also think that if he had to do it all over again he would do things differently, but I'm not concerned about how he did things over the past three years AS MUCH as I am concerned about what will happen going forward.

Let's think of this hypothetically

Dec 2007 - Lloyd Carr resigns and UM hires some random spread guy, say...Gary Pinkell

Gary Pinkell goes 3-9 5-7 7-5 in three seasons at UM and gets run out of town, but michigan has the exact sme roster as they do now.

RR meanwhile is still completely dominating the shitty Big Easy Conference at WVU

Wouldnt you consider him the absolute best fit to take over this team? I know you are probably gonna say no (because of the history of the last three years) but My point is this - RR fucked alot of things up in his first three years at M - but if he learns from his mistakes (and I think he has done that to an extent--his recruiting has stepped up in the D catagory particularly in this and last-years class-but it's gonna take a little time to develop these players) he could be truly special here at M. Just because he didnt make the adjustments that you talk about, doesnt mean that he is a shit coach, but that he did not understand what it was going to take to win here until after that 3-9 wake up call. He has a brilliant football mind (i will argue that with anyone any day, although I suspect you wouldn't argue that point) but he has had to learn how to apply that mindset to the big ten....he didnt play big ten football....never coached it....he had to learn it first hand. And now that he has, I have the faith that he can do the things that he (and I) thought he could do with M level talent.

M 55-30

1. Who wins the game? What is the final score? M wins 55-30

2. Denard's passing and rushing yards? (Shouldn't we be calling these Denyards?)

214 Rush 2-tds 304 pass 4-tds (518 Denyards!)

3. Indiana's total yards? 378

4. How many times will Michigan punt? 1 punt

5. How many Michigan field goal attempts? 2 FG attempted (and made!)

BOOK IT!

Troy Wolfolk is Smarter than we think...

...after all he did wait until Minor Rage graduated before he called the Offensive Players soft. Wonder if he thinks the MSU RB's are all soft?

Joking aside, I think Woolfolk is primed to have a big year.

WOW.

You found a way to put what I feel on paper-scientifically. And I guess a MNC level does seem to be possible next year. Can you use this model to determine who our QB starter will be this fall?

Pat White was awesome-

Pat White was awesome- +1

Denard Robinson can do all the things that Pat White did in that video...maybe.

BUT...it is obvious to me that denard is much qi=uicker and faster than Pat White....this is why I'm exited. If the defense has to worry that Denard might throw the ball, we might see a rushing attack that has never been seen before.

+ infinity to you sir!

love the barely visible Mornhinweg zing! I almost didn't see it. Ha!

+1...

I get an MGoBoner every time i see that.

+ 1 toyou for equaling losing

+ 1 toyou for equaling losing to toledo and MSU

Only because it happened so repetitively

Only because it happened so repetitively

not 0-24, 0-0, never

not 0-24, 0-0, never happened. Bowl streak still alive. I still have hair on my head. I never had to punch my TV. Nothing, last game I remember is Cap One Bowl. I'm sooo exited about RR being hired.

Rich Rod said it...not me

While I agree that it would be cocky, if we get back to where I think (hope) we will be, wearing it now is what makes the shirt awesome.

The post says Cameron Gordon to FS, not LB

but remember, the FS position on our defense plays primarily in the box

it's not what you....

it's who you know...(or something like that)

my point exactly

Dyer is not -insert Big 10 RB here- yet, that is what I am trying to say.

thanks cazzie....

but in case it isn't obvious, I am crossing my fingers for "the easy route"

Triple post

dammit

Double Post

move along

Swagger is awesome but.....

Have you seen Dorsey? He is about the same size as Kate Moss....and expecting him to com into the big ten and "lay the wood" before being barwisized is a extremely optimistic.

BTW...comparatively speaking, Woolfolk is a insanely more proven commodity than ANY freshmen, at any school. We have to remember that Dorsey may never even see the field, in 4 years, so please don't put him on a pedestal yet. I remember last year when Justin Turner was a preseason lock to be awesome, much like he is this year.

FTR, I hope Dorsey is a stud, as well as Turner, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Dorsey/Woolfolk....

I've heard that the starting point for Dorsey is CB...but we will have to wait and see. Personally, I think that CB is a better position to play when you are young and can "just play" rather than read and react as a Safety.

I also remember reading and article (sorry cant find the link) that compared our Defense last year...half of the games with Woolfolk at CB....Half at S. If I remember correctly, the difference was significant....leading me to believe that this staff wants to play him at safety, but the lack of (edit: non existent) depth at corner last year did not allow it.

So here is to hoping that J. Turner and/or Cullen/Dorsey/Floyd/omg somebody please! can hold down the CB spots.

Remember giving up huge chunks of yards on 3rd and long last year? (especially to TE's)...blame that on the S play....we need a proven commodity at S. Woolfolk plase, at least for now.

Kid must know something we don't

...maybe Kiffen told him that USC would be off probation by 2015. Hell of a recruiting tool.
