empathy

Kind of dick attitude by Mgoblog commentors. Without doubt someone was hurt and that is inexcusable. He deserves to be off the team, but he doesn't need you rubbing his face in his mistake. He has a long road ahead of him because of a very dumb mistake. Have some empathy for a 20 year old kid.

Architect - Dan Dworsky

Sorry if everyone is familiar with this, but I wanted to share. Crisler comes in for some well deserved criticism, but it should be noted that Dan Dworsky, the architect, is a legendary Michigan Man and I am happy that some of the original architectural details will be preserved on the exterior.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Dworsky

  • He was an All-American on Michigan's undefeated national championship teams in 1947 and 1948.
  • He dated Marilyn Monroe (not in the wiki, but I happen to know this is true.)
  • After a year in the AAFC, he turned down an offer from the Steelers and returned to Michigan to get his Masters in Architecture.

Crisler is outdated and a problematic public facility, but Mr. Dworsky deserves praise for being a great Michigan represantive on the field and in his field.

Can anyone explain this situation to me so my head stops exploding over and over?

this too shall pass

We have a good team loaded with young talent, good coaches (good coaching options also), and intelligent administrators. Michigan is going to be just fine although none of us know the path we'll take. Sit back, watch it happen, and enjoy it. Michigan football is about the players and our obsession is a by-product. Not the other way around.

advice

I live in Clinton Hill and its a great cheap neighborhood as long as you stay West of Classon Avenue. Look for a place near the Dekalb Avenue stop of the NQ subway line as it is two stops from Union Square. (Technically Fort Greene). If you can avoid it, don't get an apartment that requires you to depend on the G train.

Williamsburg is a great neighborhood, but expensive. Stay near the Bedford or Lorimer stops on the L train. It is completely gentrified and no longer the hipster capital of the world. That's Long Island City in Queens, so if you have a sick beard and a 28" waist, look there.

Finding an apartment in NYC is not like finding one elsewhere, so I wouldn't expect to step off the plane and have a place within a week. Craiglist roomshares is honestly not a bad option in NYC. There are a lot of normal and economical options out there, but you need to weed through a lot of crap.

Lastly, no matter what you're told, you do not have to pay a broker's fee to get a apartment. Thats for suckers. Good luck.
