UCLA bball game roll call/away game ticket advice?

Submitted by MGoReid on
There is a huge base of MgoUsers in SoCal. Who's going tomorrow for the UCLA game?

I'm debating buying on stubhub today or just going down and scalping the day of. Any experiences at Pauly Pavilion on whether decent seats can be had cheaply prior to tip off? Probably need to bite the bullet and buy them online.

In general, how do people go about getting away tickets? Our ticket office doesn't get an allotment for alumnae (unlike football).

I will be there tomorrow, Going to the game with my Grandmother(UCLA alum) and my Dad.  My Dad bought the tickets for the game right after the SMU game, so they were still reasonable and did it through stubhub.

Wish I had a better answer on tickets(sorry)

In any case I will be the tall guy in Michigan gear with the sweet lady cheering for UCLA.

Sorry, I'm replying here to get to the top of the thread for a PSA from one of the blog's sponsors: the UM Alumni Club.

There is a pre-game event at Q's Billiard Club tomorrow:

  • Date: Saturday, December 10

  • Location: Q’s Billiard Club & Restaurant, 11835 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90025

  • Time: 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM

  • Cost: $5 - Register Here

There will be appetizers and drink specials so that's what the $5 goes towards.  There should be alums from the OC and SD clubs so it's just a meet and greet prior to the game.

Hopefully better result than my trip to Iowa.

I haven't been to Pauley since the renovations a few years ago, so my take is dated, but I do not recall seeing a ton of scalpers at the game.  There were generally a few, however.  My advice would be to buy some tickets today if you can find decent ones, or even see what's available tomorrow around noon when people are freaking out about being unable to unload their seats.

Never made it to any major basketball venues when I lived in SoCal. I did visit UCLA's campus a few times, and naturally it is fabulous. I hope you have a good time.

Go for the experience, because, er, the result doesn't look promising right now.

I'll be there. Going with two UCLA neighbors then meeting a few U of m peeps. Got my nosebleed tix through the alumni group. First time to Pauly. Looking forward to it.

but for the lean years, tickets were extremely easy to get at Pauley.  For all the history, they rarely sell out games and tickets tend to be abundant.

Is this game sold out? If not, are you just looking to get tickets below face?  I would think if it's not sold out, you could probably scalp at the venue.  If it is sold out, you still probably could scalp, but might not get a better deal than is available on Stubhub.

I got tickets the morning they went on sale through UCLA's site (which i believe is run through ticketmaster) for face value.  Not sure if they'd have fallen below face if UCLA didn't turn out to be so good though
