What's your most average day ever? The day in which everything more or less happened pretty much as you expected it would with no surprises?
|1 day 8 hours ago||The old Cleveland Muni||
The old Cleveland Muni stadium and it's not even close.
Old, smelly, shitty sight-lines and everybody in the place seemed to be drunk and want to fight.
On second thought I think I just described myself.

Taking time off to mingle with the great unwashed I see...
|1 day 10 hours ago||Maybe.....||
The thing is with Mke Leach talking this could very well be a goof and not seriously what he thinks.
He does tend to have a pretty good sense of humor.
|1 day 12 hours ago||Yeah you sure dont want to||
Yeah you sure dont want to lose to Virginia Tech that's for sure. Losing to them, even early in the season, will probably end any hope they'd have of making the playoffs.

Same reason we prefer shitty beer & hamburgers my friend.
|1 day 12 hours ago||WTF?||
This is disgusting and shameful even for OSU.
"The Holocaust song, called “Goodbye Kramer,” whose lyrics haven't been previously disclosed, includes lines about Nazi soldiers “searching for people livin’ in their neighbor’s attic,” and a “small town Jew…who took the cattle train to you know where.” It was written to be sung to the tune of the 1981 Journey hit “Don’t Stop Believin’.

I'm only asking this WD because I know you'll know via the well-known Superbooks.
Have we ever had a LB wear #3?

FWIW I personally dislike the concept of retiring jerseys. While I think the entire Legends Jersey conept was screwed up in implementaion, it was nice seeing #21 back on the field again. And I look forward to seeing #1 on a stud WR just like I'd like to see #2 on a great DB. I'm reminded of the great players of the past whenever I see somebody wearing a particular number (sorry all #7's are compared to Ricky Leach in my brain) and I don't see why we'd want that to end.
I don't want us to go all New York Yankees so incoming players have to wear numbers like 61.5 or something cause everything else is now considered "sacred." Put a wall of honor or something up on the luxury boxes if we want to honor somebody (like Charles) further. But leave their numbers available for subsequent generations.

I would strongly encourage anybody in the DC area to attend if you are able. These "roadshows" are a great opportunity to hear Brian speak (he tends to be a bit more candid when it's not in writing) and you'll meet a lot of your fellow MGoBloggers in person too.

Why doenst anyone ask Roger why HE refused to turn over his own cell phone during the Ray Rice "discipline" investigation? Why were the rules and presumed guilt different for the commish than for Brady?
Look this witch hunt is fueled largely by jelousy from other teams over the Pats success and their desire to knock them down a peg or two. The two owners pushing the hardest for this to be upheld are Irsay (drug addict) and Bisciotti (who lobbied HARD for the Rice hand slap).
What's even more galling are the various "NFL Insiders" who are pushing the party line that Brady MUST have done it, why else would he destroy his cell phone, who are nothing more than paid shills for the shield. Journalistic integrity and those pesky facts be dammed.
Good for Tom to come out swinging and swing hard.

I think Witz57 is bang on. I coached youth football for over 10 years with my two older boys but knowing now what I know about the cumulative effect of concussions I am NOT letting my 10 year old play until he's in 7th grade. That's five years, more or less, of reduced exposure to hits but also reduced exposure to learning so my guess is it's doubtful he'll want to play when he gets there and that's ok with me.
The rest of your points: coaches, crazy parents, etc are also right on the money as well. Great post.

Take it from somebody who knows. Changing of avatars is not an easy process around here.
Unless your WD. And in that case you simply get your graphic design team to do it for you.

The uniforms I like (all white) were worn in 73-75. Those teams went 28-3-3 and outscored their opponents 978 - 273.
Can we change back to that? Is that solid enough for you?
|3 days 12 hours ago||Let's see...... Starting||
Starting going to games in the early 70's when my brother was in dental school. Went to all games between 78-81 when in school and then again from 1987 to 2013 when I had season tickets so I guess the exact number would be a shit-ton.
Or maybe a fuckload. Not sure exactly because I have to substract some bowl games we lost that I went to.

I'll turn into WD for a day if they actually do bring these back. I've been wanting to see them again for a long, long time.

Fastest Car 1/4 mile: 1965 GTO
That car had a 389, tri-power, 4 speed and a 4:11 rear end. I had to shift out of first at 28 MPH and the top end was only about 100 or so but man oh man did we get there in a hurry. My 4 year old daughter at the time didnt like to ride in it because when I shifted "her neck got hurt" from the car sitting down and then exploding forward. And if you've never hear the sound of full throat Poncho tri-power you havent really lived.
Fastest Car Top End: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V
Offically listed at 580 HP but rumors said GM purposively under rated the HP as dino tests showed it well over 600 which is legitimately insane for a sedan. The car was supercharged (no spooling lag when you stomped it) and the power band was in the 50-130MPH range. I loved when dudes driving their hemi Challengers rolled up and wanted a go. All they saw was the tail lense of that Caddy as you literally had to hold on to something as it accelerated past 100. I think Car & Driver claimed the car could bump 200 MPH but my balls werent big enough to see that number. Fastest I got the car up to was 150 and my toes still curl thinking about that ride.
Slowest Car: My wife's 2012 Mazda CX5
No power whatsover at any speed and in any circumstance. And the whine of the 4 banger when you floor it can only be described as annoying. To make matters worse she has personal tags "JillJoy" (her name) and a big "Inshapemom.com" sticker across the back window. I can tell you that when I have to drive it the looks I get from dudes passing me are priceless. You can see the dissapointment (and subsequent laughter) when they realize it's a guy driving the car and not a chick.

York comparing Tomsula (who just might be the dumbest person I have ever had the pleasure of watching being interviewed) to Steve Kerr (who might be one of the brighest minds in the NBA) is nothing short of hilarious.

As one of the more vocal "why are they doing this shit again" posters re Draftegeddon I can say that BiSB's explanation of the concept makes me look at it completely differently and now I actually kinda enjoyed it.
Previously I looked at it as I would a fantasy football draft (the title of the piece sort of makes you think that) and it made zero sense to me. Why would anybody be picking offensive & defensive lineman for God's sake?
Now it's just a B1G players preview with snark!

I read the article and thought his analysis was bang-on. Care to share which part of it you took issue with?
Look the message is painful but true. Our OL SUCKED two years ago and got a little better last year but still has a long way to go. And I dont care if the author of that statement is the corpse of Woody Hayes himself - it's sadly true.
