I am going to boldly predict that there will be a "49ers Open Thread" created at least for the first several games with the sole purpose being to laugh at them if/when they lose.
|3 hours 13 min ago||To be fair the thread (as of||
To be fair the thread (as of now) is quite daunting. But just as soon as a Mod arrives about 75% of it is going to get caved so your post is going to roar up to near the top of the page.

Mod needed in Tressel thread - stat.
|8 hours 43 min ago||Brian Hoyer will sign with||
Brian Hoyer will sign with the Bills and will do well. Mark it down - they have a team perfectly built for his skill sets. Heavy run now that they have McCoy - then PA deep to Watkins. That was the basic gameplan for the Browns that got them to 7-4 before Mack got hurt and wheels came offf the wagon.

A crap game on the road in a crap year with a crap team riddled with injuries to key players, where everything (and i do mean everything) breaks right for the oppostion - including TWO huge missed calls by the refs coming down the stretch AND our 95% FT shooter missing a key FT - and suddenlly the best Michigan basketball coach I've ever seen is apparently senile and forgotten how to coach. GOT IT.
Some of you guys have completely lost it. I mean seriously - perspective anyone?
|18 hours 31 min ago||So with 12 seconds to go||
So with 12 seconds to go we've got a five point lead and our 95% FT shooter at the line and still find a way to NOT win?
That's impressive. Even my Cleveland Browns think that's something.

Hey guys remember like five minutes ago when we were up by 12, moving the ball on offense and playing tough defense?

Well it's true. In fairness to him he didnt say GOOD things.

Co-signed. I'm sure things are run better today but if you believe everything you hear now Hoke's practices were all juice box, orange slices and participation trophy tough.

Bingo. Looked like a straight up copy and past job from the insider post this weekend. EVERYTHING he just "reported" was here three days ago.
|1 day 1 hour ago||I'm not defending the||
I'm not defending the University but I dont think it matters here. I too deal in HiPAA a lot at work and I know that lititgation, almost any litigation, means the medical records get introduced as part of the defense.
I think the key thing is your statement "may have obfuscated a rape". Or they may not have. And in defending themselves they are asking for the records from one other their employees - not a third party. That is not unreasonable IMO.
|1 day 1 hour ago||I think what you guys are||
I think what you guys are missing is that HIPAA doesnt prevent someone from defiending themselves and in this case the Dr = the University. It appears to me that the HIPAA didnt come into play because the University said in essence "we're being sued and the person with the information on the case works for us - they are not independent."
If a Dr is sued for malpractice they are allowed to introduce patient records - the patient through their litigation creates the hole in the HiPAA protection. How is this situation any different?
|1 day 1 hour ago||I can clearly see both sides||
I can clearly see both sides of this arguement. On one hand the University must defend itself and they are accessing the records of one of their employees in doing so. On the otther - the person seeking counseling would have no reasonable way of knowing in advance that they are are talking to a representative of the group they might someday be seeking damages from when they seek the needed counseling. To me at least there is no clear right or wrong answer here.
I think I understand now why Solomon suggested cutting the baby in half.

I couldnt tell ya cause to me ordering a freaking Guiness with a burger is a crime against humanity. I want a beer, not Irish motor oil.

|1 day 5 hours ago||If the criteria is applied||
If the criteria is applied that only threads where "but I don't know what we could do or say that hasn't been done or said to them as it is" stand then about 90% of the board posts go away. I thought the purpose of the sideboard was to have a discussion on issues we share a common interest in not necessarily break new ground on a topic.
There was no "cyberbullying" going on other than Don posting a link to their pictures and how exactly does that qualify as bullying? To me this thread was nothing more than a bunch of guys in a bar who watched an asshole make unproved comment after comment to some guy about his wife get punched in the mouth and we're all, for the most part, agreeing he got exactly what he deserved..
Why is that not allowed?
|1 day 6 hours ago||You say it like it's a bad||
You say it like it's a bad thing (and normally I agree with you)
FWIW I read what they wrote. Anybody who would write that type of vile, disgusting crap to another person deserves whatever non-violent punishment the torch & pitchfork crowd can muster IMO.
They started the internet fight - they are simply getting EXACTLY what they deserved.
|1 day 7 hours ago||Time value of money. If he's||
Time value of money. If he's a mid first round pick he'll be looking at several million dollars that he'll have year one that he would never be able to recapture.
What's limiting is a pro athlete's career length. The BEST he's going to do is play into his late 30's and most are out of he league far before then. What will always be there is his opportunity, should he desire it, to go back to school and finish his degree.
What I wonder is why anyone stays if they know they are going first round, not why they leave.
|1 day 7 hours ago||The truth is neither of these||
The truth is neither of these two losers would have the balls to say anything remotely this vile anywhere near Schilling in real life. It's only through the "protection" of their internet annonimity that they muster up the courage to be this big of an asshole to another human being.
I think it's absolutely wonderful. Wish it happened more often and I hope this inspires more people to take action and not adopt the "dont feed the trolls" mentatlity. If more shit like this took place there would be far less trolls.
|1 day 19 hours ago||Duke V Kentucky in basketball||
Duke V Kentucky in basketball for me is like watching OSU V Michigan State in football. I cannot stand either team so there's no possible outcome that will make me happy.
I hate Christian Laettner too. But the team his imortal shot beat, Kentucky, is no box of chocolates either.

I'm 55 and the joke in our family used to be you could stencil a block M on anything, give it to me and I'd be happy. I've got so much stuff over the years it's almost impossible for me to pick just one favorite. It's like my kids-I love them all but for different reasons and prefer spending time with each of them individually depending on what we're doing.
