the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

| 2 days 15 hours ago | My wife has had surgery for |
My wife has had surgery for trigger finger on both hands. The doctors tried cortisone shots both times before surgery, but that treatment only lasted a couple of weeks at best. I suspect they'll give that a shot with you, also. If that doesn't work, the surgery is not fun. It's outpatient with a local anesthetic, but the recovery is very difficult. Lots of pain, can't get it wet, have to worry about the incision getting infected, and have zero use of that hand for a good 4-6 weeks. My wife still has some pain after almost a year on the second hand she had done. The first one had great results. In both of her cases, the scar is about an inch long in the palm of her hand. Best of luck to you, and I hope you have someone who can help you with things since you'll be one-handed for awhile! |

The 9-1-1 call might be even more entertaining, if that's how we're treating this as a society (not a criticism, thank goodness it turned out as well as it did so that people feel comfortable laughing at some aspect of it). Link to the call partway down on this page: |

The second one looks like a photoshop of the first. Everything is literally identical except for the text. My bet is the first was real (or at least really written), and the second a photoshop. |

The more dangerous, heavy radiation travels quite a bit slower than the speed of light, so 13 minutes doesn't apply to that. But still, yeah, there's no escaping the initial electron stuff. |

| 22 weeks 3 days ago | Would you match up Ohio and |
Would you match up Ohio and ULM with other teams to create 'good football'? the majority of teams are mediocre or worse. There are no matchups other than teams that are ranked that would create 'good football' in your opinion. If you're really so concerned about good football, skip college sports altogether and watch the NFL. If two 'bad' teams like Ohio and ULM are evenly matched, it could be great football! Maybe an offensive shootout! Or yes, maybe a turnover-laden mistake-fest. But as long as the teams are somewhat evenly matched, I don't care what level they play at, it could be a close, competitive, fun game. And bowl season tries to make somewhat even matchups. Count me in. |
| 22 weeks 3 days ago | Aside from possible negative |
Aside from possible negative financial impacts to certain schools, which is their business, I've never understood why we as fans object to more football. America is the land of excess, so why in the world would fans be upset about having more football available to watch during an otherwise dead period of time when many of us don't have to be at work, it's cold outside, and.... FOOTBALL. I just don't get it. Diluted value? I have no idea how the Rose Bowl is diluted because I watched the Pinstripe Bowl or whatever the week before. The $18M payout of the Rose Bowl sure isn't diluted. I am thrilled that I am offered a large number of bowl games, and if any of them don't strike my fancy, I simply won't tune in and will watch whatever godawful special holiday programming is on the other channels. Be careful what you wish for, football fans. More football is still more football. It's not like in the non-conference portion of the season when good teams COULD be playing other good teams. There are only so many good teams to go around now, and yes, some of the matchups feature mediocre-at-best teams. So? Bowl season presents a whole lot more in the way of even matchups than the non-conference. Besides, who are we to begrudge thousands of college kids -- who we all supposedly bemoan that they don't get paid -- a nice little vacation during winter break? Let em have their trip to Disney or whatever, and if the only negative outcome is that their AD is a little more in the red because of other issues, then so be it. That's my opinion on this. I will rue the day when the complainers get their way, and instead of watching Texas Tech v Minnesota, I have to watch some 2-hour special of The Voice or some crap. God forbid we watch Texas Tech v Minnesota. Worst. Thing. Ever. |

| 27 weeks 9 hours ago | Even after going through two |
Even after going through two degrees at UM, the best teacher I've ever had is still Jere Hassberger, I can honestly say. Had him for Algebra II, AP Calc AB and AP Physics. Nothing came as easily to me as math and physics did in his classes, and like almost everyone else, I got 5s on the AP exams. An amazing teacher. |

| 38 weeks 3 days ago | Exactly. They treat it as a |
Exactly. They treat it as a 'reporting the facts' show, rather than a 'discuss stuff and predict outcomes and talk about possibilities' show. Of course there aren't many facts to report on right now (although CFB-wide there are plenty, but they largely ignore other teams), so maybe they could BS a little about what you suggested. And like I said earlier, it really bugs me when they cut short the ONLY segment they have that's actually about Michigan athletics - Recruiting Roundup. They should be trying to milk it for time, not cut it short like we're kids and they don't want to give us too much ice cream at once. Ugh. Rant over for the day... |
| 38 weeks 3 days ago | Gotta agree with you. Every |
Gotta agree with you. Every day on my drive in, I pull up their radio feed with hopes that with 11 days until the season starts, I could enjoy hearing about, you know, Michigan Football. Day in and day out, I'm disappointed. All they seem to talk about are the Detroit pro sports. The show is called Michigan Insider!! And before you say that 'college football isn't in season yet', I've listened to more talk about the NBA in the last few weeks than about college football, by far. Who in God's name gives a crap about the Pistons? The few weeks where we had to hear about Ira's divorce was even worse. It's called Michigan Insider fergodsakes!! I also don't like how they feel the need to limit the Recruiting Roundup segment. It's the only part of their show that's actually about Michigan athletics, yet they keep a strict time limit of just 15 minutes! Come on, guys, give us something to listen to! |

| 43 weeks 3 days ago | Totally agree. Some people |
Totally agree. Some people need to get their heads out of the fantasy world where Jim Delaney can dictate what everyone else does. We weren't getting homefield advantage, ever. And if the consolation prize is that every Big Ten team gets 80/2/12 = $3.33 MILLION most years from the Rose Bowl deal, then so be it. |

| 45 weeks 1 day ago | To be honest, I don't really |
To be honest, I don't really think that late-December/early-January upper Midwest weather is really "our weather" either when it comes to college football. Our season ends by December, and our games are rarely visited by flurries. That's great and all, but a month later and things are definitely different. We can look to the NFL as an example of how that works as homefield advantage, but I don't think we can assume that would translate to CFB. In general, I'm a fan of homefield sites for the playoffs, but only slightly more than the plan that was decided upon. I honestly don't know for sure that it would work, because we haven't done it (other than the hockey game at the Big House last year). Have you ever spent all day outside in 20-degree temps? Have you ever played football outside for 3 hours for free in 20-degree temps, knowing that you could be in Pasadena instead? I just don't think we can assume that homefield sites would've been this super-awesome thing in every way that we're deprived of because men in suits are such idiots. |
