| 3 years 2 weeks ago | You mean, 'whom to tase,' I assume |
Regardless of your subject/object and noun/verb snafus, I want to tase the guy who tased the guy who rushed the field in Philly. He should at least know how it feels if he isn't willing to tackle the guy. I have nothing wrong the taser itself, but I just think its implementation here takes the fun out of the go-get-'em atmosphere that is the good old days of fan-running-on-the-field-mania. Of course, baseball players are much smaller than NFL linebackers, but this guy rules: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/football/nfl/specials/playoffs/200... |
| 3 years 4 weeks ago | I can't believe you mentioned |
I can't believe you mentioned Boardwalk Empire without mentioning THE RETURN OF OMAR Well, Michael K. Williams. But either way, Omar was definitely my favorite character in The Wire and I can't wait to see Williams with some new and different material (no homo). |
| 3 years 6 weeks ago | Ummm..... |
I knew that the Cameron Crazies were the student section, I was just confused with your apparent contradiction. Thanks for the neg, though. |
| 3 years 6 weeks ago | Word. |
I didn't take the sixties class, but his History of American Suburbia is definitely the best class I've ever had. |
| 3 years 6 weeks ago | Am I bad at reading? |
Or are you bad at writing? Or am I missing something? "Outside of the Cameron Crazies, most of whom don't know anything about basketball, Duke fans are some of the most knowledgeable and die hard." Aren't Cameron Crazies Duke fans? Isn't most of a school's fans knowing something about basketball a necessary condition for that school's fans to be "some of the most knowledgeable"? Despite this apparent confusion/idiocy, Duke sucks. They don't deserve to win nearly as many games as they do. Their antiquated style of being patient, pounding the ball inside, and making jump shots (this actually is a similarity between our two schools, but of course only pertaining to basketball) has found them unable to make substantial runs in the tournament recently, mainly due to their lack of athleticism. This year seems to be an exception to that rule, but I honestly believe that they luckily, narrowly, avoided the chance to play the more athletic, elite, college basketball teams, to whom they would surely have lost. A classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=119YpI9fSwo&feature=related |
| 3 years 8 weeks ago | Thanks, but |
The listings here http://www.att.com/gen/sites/iptv?pid=12596 say that Fox Sports North will be showing Tennis. Should I assume this to be true, or just not yet updated? |
| 3 years 8 weeks ago | Yeah, let's get rid of sponsors all together. |
And play all sports - hockey, football, basketball, volleyball - on Elbel Field, |
| 3 years 8 weeks ago | So, maybe I missed something |
But, is "All In" permanent? I guess I assumed that it would be a one year thing. Specifically seeing as how we were 'all in' this year, but then lost everything. If the metaphor holds, can one go all in twice? |
| 3 years 19 weeks ago | Do we know how tall he is? |
From the videos and the description of him as a 3 guard I would guess in the 6'6"-6'8" range. Is that accurate? |
| 3 years 21 weeks ago | No Toe-Stepping or Parade-Raining intended, Tim |
I very much look forward to your assessment tomorrow, my post was more hoping for an instant-gratification briefing, while yours are consistently more focused on analysis - which I like. Is that fair? Either way, good to hear about the improved ball movement. The offense has been so so stagnant as of late. |
| 3 years 22 weeks ago | Good Montage |
Too bad it left out "I'm in a glass case of emotion." Would have been a nice touch at the end. Anyway, I just think politics are funny. This is video is funny. This video is politics? |
| 3 years 22 weeks ago | I wasn't trying to be political |
Seriously, it's a commentary on the Columbus crowd. The things they say prove an uninformed city, not an uninformed party or voting bloc (which may be true, but that's not the point here). I wouldn't have posted it if it was from Cleveland and there was one guy wearing an Ohio State pin. |
| 3 years 22 weeks ago | It's also not really worth it |
I know you're writing in broad hypotheticals here, but is it really worth it to make a change like this? or even talk about it? Moving a total of eight teams would affect so few schools that it seems rather insignificant. Particularly when there are so many problems at the top (OMGBCS). |

He hasn't developed at all. In term's of speed, strength, or elusiveness. From everything I've seen, he looks waaaayyyy too soft for the Bigger Twelve. |
| 3 years 22 weeks ago | Marcus Thames! |
Magglio! Clete! Kelly! Raburn! What I'm trying to say is that I agree, there's no one reliable. Jackson by have what it takes eventually, but it just doesn't look good at all. On second thought, Porcello? |

Money, Money, Money To compete with conferences, the Big Ten has to have a championship game to step up the revenue. Also, why the hell not? Like the other responder said, a final game is exciting. The Big Ten is already a misnomer, why not make it more so? |

How many mistresses is the count up to now? Fourteen? One of them had to have gotten knocked up at some point, right? Isiah Thomas style? |

Reilly in SI was refreshing - he took a humanistic stance on interesting stories, which contrasted well with the heavy sports output of the magazine. |

...where it isn't due seems to be the trend with these hoops updates. Saying "The Defense Returns" implies that this was a strong defensive effort where we shut down the opponent, which was just not the case. The main story of this game was not the defense returning (though Novak's block did get me way off my seat), it was the continued struggles. I can remember more than five times when Detroit got easy breakaways resulting from bad passes at the top. A few of which were Gibson's fault. The lack of a third scorer remains a glaring issue. Rebounding? What does that even mean anymore? Akunne keeps playing, which I find odd. Why is he so limp wristed? |
| 3 years 22 weeks ago | Zoltan's reppin too |
Space Emperor FOR LIFE. How about that promo he did during the college football awards with tiffin? Does anybody know what I'm talking about/have a link? |
| 3 years 22 weeks ago | This is a good point |
Much has been made about our lack of height, but I really believe that college basketball is all about how much a given team is willing to put on the line in a given night. Or in other words, the "hard" scale. One example of heart prevailing over height, I think, would be Davidson beating Wisconsin in the Sweet Sixteen two years ago. That Badger team was huge and those little guys on Davidson shut them down (with a little help from some Curry fella). Davidson employed that same trap philosophy (not unlike Beilein's approach to big men) to their next opponent, Kansas, and only lost by two. |
| 3 years 22 weeks ago | You wouldn't believe it, |
but the Grad is closed the Saturday before finals. |
| 3 years 22 weeks ago | As of now |
It seems like it would absolutely be worth it to give him this year off. He clearly is struggling with basic basketball skills i.e. jumping and running. His size is so valuable, hence the importance of not wasting with a re-aggravated injury. Does anybody know about the possibility of getting him a second year of red-shirt? for medical purposes? I think I saw something about this from Brian recently. |
| 3 years 23 weeks ago | What about hoops? |
Would this hold for basketball as well? Pitt brings a lot to the table there too(obvi). |
| 3 years 23 weeks ago | So you're outing the sixth mistress? |
Or have there been seven now? |
| 3 years 23 weeks ago | Wha Happened? |
The Tigers were in the running, right? After getting rid of Lyon this would have been huge. |
| 3 years 23 weeks ago | Absolutely Not |
There is a certain amount of truth in the vicious cycle of the bottom dwellers - i.e. finishing sixth-worst every year and not getting the best player who turns it around. So it may be worth it to throw some games at the end of the season, why the hell not? The problem, though, is that Lions seem to not be able to draft the best players even when they consistently have top-five picks. Sometimes it's a matter of character ("I Blew Everyday" anybody?) and sometimes they are just Joey Harrington and can't play in the big leagues. Getting Suh would help, but not enough. The Lions are going to be bad for a long time. |
