Ignorance in its finest form.

Ignorance in its finest form.  Educate yourself on Penn State law enforcement before you talk about "Paterno and the culture he created."  Just a wild guess here, but I'm guessing you've never set foot in State College, yet you are fully enlightened on the environment at Penn State.    He believed others were better equipped to handle this situation than himself.  He was wrong, and you choose to crucify him because of it.  Shame on you.

This display of stupidity means this board no longer serves any purpose for me.  Fortunately, my experiences have shown that the vast majority of the people of Ann Arbor and UM have far more dignity, class and intelligence than you.  I hope God is kinder in his judgement of you than you are of a man who was far greater, kinder, and better in every way than you can ever hope to be.

He informed the head of Penn

He informed the head of Penn State Police when he informed Gary Schultz.  McQueary believed the same thing:

"I thought I was talking to the head of the police, to be frank with you," McQueary said. "In my mind it was like speaking to a [district attorney]..

Penn State Police are not typical campus rent-a-cops, they carry guns, carry out independent criminal investigations, and have a SWAT team.  If you really believe PSU Police did not know about this, you are kidding yourself.

To say that Joe did nothing and enabled Sandusky is unfair and inaccurate.  He undoubtedly made a mistake by not following up once he saw Schultz was sitting on his hands, but to put the sins of Sandusky on him is unfair.  Furthermore, Sandusky had emeritus status, meaning Joe could not throw him out of Lasch or any place on campus.  None of Joe's critics seem to want to talk about criminals who walk because someone tried to cut through bureaucratic red tape and undotted an i or uncrossed a t.  Joe himself said this was his fear and he made a mistake by believing others were more fit than himself to deal with this situation.  An error in judgement?  Yes.  A flaw in character?  Hardly.

RIP Joe, you mean more to me than you could possibly know.

Highly disagree.  Ohio's class is very top-heavy.  I like just about every one of our commits.

Can anyone with better

Can anyone with better knowledge about the national college hockey landscape than myself tell us what this weekend has done for our tourney chances?  How close would we be to being in if the season ended today?

Getting a good laugh out of

Getting a good laugh out of that situation, you sick fuck?

They are the single most

They are the single most overrated program in all of college football.  People are enamored with them because they win 10 games a year against Duke, Wake Forest, UVA, and the rest of the joke that is the ACC.  What is the last good team they've beaten?  I would love to know their record vs. ranked teams outside of the ACC over the past decade.  This is more of a tuneup for Alabama next year.  Let's see if Denard can put together 2 great performances in a row and is ready to make a Heisman run next year.

This won't even be one of those games where its close for a while then Michigan pulls ahead, Michigan jumps on them early and often and wins by 30.

SPARTY NO!!!!!

SPARTY NO!!!!!

SPARTY NO!!!!!

Houston probably drops below us, not definitely. Baylor probably jumps us, Clemson possibly does. Thats a net gain of between 1 and 3 not including the Big Ten winner. Wisconsin loss almost seals the deal for us, but might not be necessary

All I can think of when I hear Gus Johnson is that Buffalo Wild Wings commercial. "With the SEEEEEMMM"

Georgia drops after LSU spanks them.  We're in.

Great response.  You added a lot to the discussion.  Way to represent your alma mater.

So let's once again accept half truths without looking for facts. She was asked to leave along with everyone else because the pool was closed. But lets not let the truth stand in the way of damning the Paternos to hell.

I remember hearing Diamond

I remember hearing Diamond struggled at camps against top competition this summer.  Does anyone know any details about that?

I think they would.  They

I think they would.  They beat us head to head and their third loss would come in the conference championship game that they beat us out for a spot in.

What exactly do we need a

What exactly do we need a national stage for?  We're not trying to build a program.  We're not desparate for exposure.  If we were we would be playing on Thursday nights like the entire ACC and Big Least are desparate to do.  Everyone already knows the Michigan brand.  I want to play the best team possible.

This is all great unless

This is all great unless Sparty loses the Conference Championship.  PSU or Wisky gets the autobid and Sparty gets the at large over us.  Honestly though wouldn't you rather play Bama/Arkansas/LSU in the Cap One than Okie State in the Fiesta or Sugar?

As a lifelong PSU fan and now

As a lifelong PSU fan and now a UM student, I think it would behoove you all to wait until all the facts come out about what Paterno actually did/tried to do before damning him.  This story isn't even close to over, and a lot of people (in particular the PSU BOTs) are going to end up with egg on their face at the end of all of this.

Everyone is so sold on

Everyone is so sold on Sparty's defense and I just don't see it.  Is this hype based on shutting down Braxton Miller or getting torched by Notre Dame?   I remember watching them play ND and they never laid a finger on Reese.  I think Michigan will win and I don't think it will be all that close.

im so torn on who to root for....

Welllllllll

That's good to hear.  We do need some big posession receivers and I'm so in favor of us bringing in Payton and the Darboh.  Although I would rather have another DT cuz DTs need a year to just eat and lift while WRs can just step in right away.  If you need evidence of this flash back to the '05 PSU team where 4 true frosh stepped in at WR and torched everyone in the Big Ten except UM.  Well I just got back from the Blue Lep and I'm drunk so forgive my ignorance but i gotta get up at 9:30 to meet some friends at Peirpont at 10:30.  Hope we get there on time.  GOOO BLUUUUUEEEEE YAAAHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

I thought

I thought there were people on here "in the know" who were skeptical of Payton. Someone had said he was given his high ranking and offers based on his performance as a freshman and that he hadn't developed as well as people expected him to. I know lots of people here were a lot higher on Darboh and the other WR targets.

haha awesome, thanks

So is it more or less general admission? Im an incoming grad student so i know nothing about this. Im in row 13, but if i wanna sit with someone whos in row 50 or something will anyone care? How else do students get to sit with their friends?
