Terry Allen, a west Texas musician and artist was my father's favorite (dad passed in 2017). He's authored some silly songs like 'Truck Load of Art' and some hits, 'Amarillo Highway' that are covered by more famous artist like Robert Earl Keen. There's one of his songs that sticks with me when I read stories like yours and many more on this blog. It's called Give me the Flowers and goes like this:
In this world today where we're living Some folks say the worst of us they can But when we are dead and in our caskets They always slip some lilies in our hands
Will you give me my flowers While I'm livin' and let me enjoy them while I can? Don't wait 'til I'm ready to be buried And then slip some lilies in my hand
In this world is where we need our flowers And a kind word to help us get along So if you can't give me flowers while I'm livin' Then please, don't throw them when I'm gone
It makes me happy when I read that your sons were able to touch their mother and grandfather, before he passed, in such a meaningful way. I am sure he ascended to the pearly gates with the coin in hand and love in his heart. May the good Lord bless you and yours, XM!
Wrigley Field - this was in the early 1990s. Its a classic
Tiger Stadium - Yeah, I'm for the nostalgia
Oracle. Nice newer stadium.
Citizens Bank Park - Went last summer. Very nice modern park with good city views.
Comerica Park - Much like #3. Nice park.
Progressive Field - Much like #3, but with ohioans, so lower ranked.
Candlestick (went in the early 1990s). Yeah, that statement about being cold in August. Holy crap. We made the mistake of being in the upper deck. Might as well had been on Everest.
Tropicana. Just a vapid soulless place.
My favorite baseball games were always the minor league games. My dad used to take my brothers and me to the San Antonio missions games in the 1980s and my high school best friend and I would go see the South Bend Silver Hawks during summer break. You could interact with the players, play catch on the lawns surrounding the stadium. Great memories.
Very nice job on this. As much as I like correlation, I am interested in finding outliers and reasons for variation. An interesting question: What kinds of things explain the difference between aTm 2022 and Washington 2022? ASU 2022 and Texas 2018? On the surface, all those teams on the bottom are Pac12 teams. Maybe there's bias in the recruiting rankings based on geography?
Just like with Dylan Rashada, it amazes me how many fans are okay with Michigan not getting the Dickinson's of the world when it’s 100% in their control.
He literally wrote this above: "It amazes me how many fans are okay with Michigan not getting the Underwood’s of the world when it’s 100% in their control". So, yes, that is exactly what the OP is saying.
Absolutely. They were dominant for a long time... That's why I said recently. They have nothing in the way of offensive talent now (and since before Brady left).
Minnesota is the spot for any of the QBs - Jefferson and Addison outside and Hock at TE. A solid OLine and an offensive-minded HC. Add to that a suspect D that will keep the offense needing to score... I hope JJ lands there. CHI is going with Williams, WAS is a perennial tire fire, so is NE (recently), and AZ is either trading or getting MH Jr.
I have a Ram 1500 and can see most children... LOL. I think no matter what vehicle you have, being careful and considerate is the #1 goal. Inconsiderate drivers chock my guff.
I’ve got… UConn vs Arizona and Houston vs Creighton, then UConn over Houston. The first couple founds will be a mess. Best time in sports outside of when Michigan is winning the Championship in football, which happened in January in case anyone forgot. I have New Mexico in the S16 with Samford.
Yeah. I believe that as much as I believe a political candidate. It sounds like they're backing their guy and they'll stick with Pickett if there's no better option (e.g., Wilson or Fields).
My only reservation about him moving up the draft ladder is that the Steelers won't get him and will continue to be stuck in 9-8 purgatory with the likes of Pickett, Wilson, Rudolph, etc.
Yes, this seems most reasonable. Things people seeking clients hate: Negative reviews (Google, etc.) and complaints against their business (Bar, State boards, BBB). You could just contact the firm and ask to drop the bill for the reasons you stated above, or your recourse will be to go public and contact the Bar Association.

On said island, does one have access to a good chianti and maybe some fava beans?
Won, lose, draw, rain-out... Burn 'em all!
Man, I love these. Keep up the good work Desmond!
In IT we’d resolve that ticket saying “working as designed”.
A quick look over the same time frame for ND and they are 3-3-4 (under-ranked, neutral, over-ranked). PSU is 2-4-4

All credibility? I dunno, but I think he has earned the right to throw in a few WAGs (if its even that) on the back half of his preseason top 25.
Now this is the way to start a Friday AM. I'll read it again on Monday too! It's great to be!
I've only been to a few - so limited rankings:

Was it ever uncool?
An SEC offer embiggens the smallest recruit?

#4 has me laughing my ass off this morning. Happy Friday!
Exactly. I believe the phrase is "die mad". This has got to be one of the stupidest OPs in a long time around here.
I preferred Tom Manning. He was legit.

I just did this. Ended up with a Ram 1500 (5.7L hemi with eTorque). I chose the Ram mostly for the muscle to tow the RV.
I'd still rather not.
Did CJK5H or is it still "allegedly"?
Keith called the Twins/Tigers game yesterday alongside Ernie.
Gamo Whisper for me.

This and the assclown who races ahead and cuts you off just to turn left or right on the next street.
LGRW!!!
The NIT is also good for showing how asinine the NCAA is for leaving teams like Seton Hall and Indiana State out in favor of teams like Virginia.
Manhattan isn't far from DC... wait.
The MGo Friday Pos MBang, Sponsored by Bez MBang. Has a nice ring to it.
Wait? Keith Jackson passed away? Who knew?

Amir Abdur-Rahim. Kennesaw state and USF turn arounds.
*allegedly*
Yeah. Who needs facts when you've got the vibe? I like it!
Bo Jackson? Thought he was headed to Auburn.
Hail Yes!

A real catch deuce-deuce, if you will.
I imagine they'll look something like this.
Rutger their S
…
Giving teh
Rutger their S
Oh what a mess
1. Don’t know Bond all that well.
2. Wolverine. Its great to be!
3. Bain. Dude is a badass
4. Biologically speaking, yes.
I took a similar game-meaningfulness approach:
Unlike Colt45, which works every time, every time.
No f’n way!
I heart Hart. Best wishes to him!

Dosage? Can I get some love for MGo PharmDs?
That last place NFL schedule helps too.
