Peppers was out of town basically all of last week for the national awards banquets. Apparently they had practice on Monday. It appears the pportunity for Peppers to take exam was limited.
Am guessing they scheduled the awards banquet to be at the beginning of the dead period for recruiting, so all the coaches would be there. Am thinking the only other option is to schedule it later in Dec, and that may not be possible with holidays (for attendance purposes) and bowl prep for the team.

Thanks, Zoltanrules! For some reason I had it in my mind as Stan Edwards. But no doubt about it, it was Lawrence Reid.

Stan Edwards "fumbled" the ball out of bounds with about five seconds to go. As the RB on the play, he essentially tossed the ball out of bounds from several yards away.
The next play was Wangler to Carter and "will be heard for another 100 years of Meeechigan football!!!" Lee Corso, the Indiana Head Coach that day, is still bitter about the "fumble."

Agreed 100%. When I mention to people that I never click on a Freep link, they look at me like I have three eyes. Good to read these posts and see that I am not alone.

His Defensive Coordinator will be none other than former Michigan running back Chuck Heater, senior on UM's '74 team. Part of the group that went 30-2-1 and never went to a bowl game (ineligible as frosh in '71).

Look at the sheer brilliance of the tweet. Brian posted many months ago about the sometimes hidden meanings and subtleties in Harbaugh's tweet (can't find the post right now). "Barking up the wrong tree." The Bulldogs of Georgia = barking. Ann Arbor = trees. Cool.

Mike Hankwitz, a Michigan Man. A senior and tight end on Bo's 1969 team. He was DC for Colorado when they won the National Championship in 1990. He was still the DC for Colorado when he and the Buffalos came to Michigan Stadium for the Kordell Stewart Hail Mary game in 1994.

Michigan's Wide Receivers Coach 1990-93 was Cam Cameron, who also coached the QB's. Here's a list of UM WR Coach 1979-present.
Weist was a Grad Asst 1990-93. According to his UConn bio, Weist was "Wide Receivers/ Vol Grad Asst."

Good info, and it is a lot of work.
I started a website a year ago with coaching data (and other stuff, fergodsakes.com. Check out the "M Coaching Trees" section. Didn't do much with the website in the off-season, but will be doing quite a bit during the season.

was Hoke's D Line Coach. Hoke was his own DL Coach at S Diego St, and of course Jerry Montgomery is D Line Coach here.

Agree with you regarding Herrmann. Like the socks.
|4 years 5 weeks ago||Herrmann not here for||
Herrmann was not here in 2007 when Armanti Edwards did his thing. Ron English was DC at that time.
As a coach, has won a Super Bowl ring (with NY Giants last year) and of course his National Champ ring with UM.
As a player, on the team that got Bo his first Rose Bowl victory.

Steve Morrison was LB Coach for Cuse in 2012. Shafer named Chuck Bullough (from MSU and most recently Cleve Browns) as his D Coord on Friday, and it remains to be seen what that means for Morrison.
From reading tweets of Syracuse media and this write up, Shafer nailed his intro press conference on Friday, a la Hoke two years ago.

Could actually have Shafer v RichRod in Sun Bowl a few years from now. Cuse is joining the ACC. Sun Bowl has ACC # 4 vs Pac 12 #4.

|4 years 12 weeks ago||Roy Manning, Steve Stripling with Cinci||
Will be interesting to see where a few of Jones's coaches at Cinci with Michigan ties end up... would they go with Jones (if Jones wants them) or stay with Cinci.
Former M linebacker Roy Manning (2000-04) was the Running Backs Coach for the Bearcats this season. Cinci finished 31st in FBS with 200 rushing yards per game.
Carr's last Defensive Line Coach Steve Stripling (with M from 2005-07) now holds the same position with Cinci. The Bearcats rush defense was 27th in FBS allowing 130 yards per game; scoring defense was 12th, allowing 17 points per game.

And that UConn AD is none other than Warde Manuel, former Michigan football player and Assistant Athletic Director.
