The committees stated…

The committees stated objective is to get the best four teams in, not what is fairest.

I am viewing it as more of a referendum on the ACC vs the SEC. You tools let Notre Dame in your conference with a 'special' deal for letting them keep their filthy NBC money. You deserve what you get, ACC.

Well I'll have to try it…

Well I'll have to try it then. The reason I like the sazerac, I think, is the lack of bourbon-barrel (and I like the extra layer of complexity the Absinthe brings.) I even got a "big" ice cube tray to facilitate.

Any recommendations for the Cognac?

Not to be "that guy," but…

Not to be "that guy," but Ive just gotten into the Sazerac lately and am a bit obsessed, so I am having a crisis of faith here. Isn't it supposed to be Rye Whiskey (and not Cognac?)

1. 46 male. LSA 1994.

2…

1. 46 male. LSA 1994.

2. All of 'em (If one of the kids has a sporting event, that takes precedence. However, I DVR it and watch it the first chance I get. More recently, I've been able to 'catch up' with the live broadcast by FF through commercials. This is quite awesome when it occurs.)

3. No... she's game. Took her to some games while we were dating, and she was already sort of a fan, and had friends that were fans. I sometime get the "you'd better...." hairy eyeball if family events conflict, but this isn't too often. I kid around about the "bait and switch" because she seemingly liked both M football and drinking beer alot more before we got married (...or was it before we started having kids?) Still, our wedding party was late to the reception because we had to finish watching Oregon beat us. We got married anyway.

Podcasts have actually now…

Podcasts have actually now made me put a hold on my Audible account.

That said, Audible IS awesome. Cant beat Game of Thrones. I like post-apocalyptic fiction, so theres alot of that on Audible too (like compilations of short stories). Plenty of Zombies. As far as nonfiction, I recommend Guns Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond. He's a evolutionary biologist, but it should be required reading for history buffs too.

Podcasts: aside from MGoPodcast, I think Jansen's (In the Trenches) is actually pretty good - his 'host' is pretty annoying, but Jansen's 'excitable' narration style has sort of grown on me. The other one I'd recommend is The Wolverine Podcast (with Balas and Borton), particularly the ones with Doug Skene on - he's terrific.

For History podcasts, I agree 100% that Dan Carlin is the best out there by a longshot. I bought them all individually from his website because I enjoyed them so much (well worth it) but he has some recent free ones available as well.

c'mon

He acknowleges both school's traditions. The article was designed to pump up the fan base (much like our aforementioned hype video).  I wasn't offended by this.

Carlin

He always claims he's not a "historian", but if thats true he's better than most historians. That podcast is awesome - just finishing the World War I series now. Highly recommended.

nonconsentual... yet UNconventional

This picture should be seen more and more as the game gets closer

re: Podcasts

I have a droid currently, so I use Podkicker during my commute. Of the UM content I can find on the search function, the four podcasts I have kind of settled on are (in order of my own anticipation):

1. MGoPodcast  (honestly, the best; most complete analysis, funniest, etc.)

2. The Wolverine Beat  (the MLive guys)

3. The Wolverine Podcast  (Balas and Borton from the Wolverine Magazine, includes their radio appearances on the Huge Show)

4. The Michigan Man Podcast (good guests, typically including the opposing team's play-by-play announcer (!) and I actually like the UM band and Bob Ufer intros, though for some I can see how they might get a bit repetetive. Fitzpatrick has one of the best radio voices around, FWIW.)

don't take this the wrong way....

There's no excuse for those louts, obviously. In my experience, pro games tend to be less family-friendly overall than college games. And it sounds like you kept your cool in that situation.

But to be fair, your wife does sound annoying. I'm not a smoker, but the game is outside, no?

The two smells that specifically trigger "football" in my memory are fresh-cut grass and cigar smoke for some reason.

If I had to sit next to someone loudly shouting "No Smoking!" repeatedly, I would start to wish almost immediately that they would stop. In fact, I would rather inhale smoke than listen to that.

Just saying....

I do hate ND, but I have to disagree with many of your items (notably except for #3).

First off, that girl in #10 is totally hot. The fact that she even made your top ten after being briefly shown on a televised game three years ago make me think thou protest too much, Shredder.

How about hating ND for the simple fact that their fans are so entitled?

I went to see us lose to them about 7 years ago. South Bend itself is a hole, but the campus is immaculate. I actually like their stadium... it was like a smaller (but CLEANER) version of our own stadium pre-renovation.

The thing that annoyed me was when my friend and I were getting ready to go into the stadium before the game, the chant from a group of students was: "S.A.T.s! S.A.T.s!...." I mean, who do you guys think you're playing? Save that crap for Sparty.

I guess I just saw the

I guess I just saw the updated version that only mentioned the vaccine. Agreed.

Autism is one thing. On the

Autism is one thing. On the other hand, the data says that linking vaccines to autism is spurious at best.

Link

A friend of mine from HS (and at UM) married the producer of that show (also a UM grad), so thats likely why we're seeing these references.

Still doesn't make me want to watch it, however..... but hey, its just not my bag, baby.

You have to hand it to them

No matter what... that was a ballsy call. Your kicker throwing it to some special-teams tight end type? C'mon....

I ALWAYS root Big Ten. Its good that ND went down. Maybe when they join the conference, I'll root for them, but not before. And it sets up a possible undefeated UM vs. undefeated Sparty in Ann Arbor in a couple weeks. Whats not to like?

As far as comparatively, we should worry about our secondary matching up against ANY offense (Bowling Green and IU included).

Go Blue!

Glad I got mine when I did

Using the players names was what made them unique, though I understand the University's position. Does that mean my 'Vlad the Impaler' is now a collecter's item?

Should have gotten the 'Death Roh' as well....

Even if MGoBlog couldn't actively promote it, shouldn't there be room on the internet for a site that features non-officially-licensed material?

(Sort of like the 'back room' of the Great Divide... that store in Flint that sold the 'half-UM' - 'half-MSU' stuff?
