yes.

OT but...

One of my family members is getting his twitter sports app off of the ground. Check out our Michigan team chatter http://www.sportsfactory.co/sports/college/teams/michigan/grid

It provides relevant tweets and links to articles about Michigan football. You can also subscribe to other teams if you're interested.

Sorry mods if this is inappropriate but I thought people might like it

Agreed, 2006 ND.

What a blast.

2007 Illinois and Sparty were also awesome in a different way.

2006 ND I was a junior and made the trip with one of my senior friends. We were hammered and I am not proud about how we acted, but that is probably the most fun I have ever had at an away game.

I don't know how many band

I don't know how many band members they travel with, but Notre Dame has one of the larger marching bands in the country. 380+ members according to their website.

I've seen folks clamoring for MOAR brass instead of woodwinds, but come on, we have some sick flute parts.

ND played a lot of pirate sounding jams--I found them to be a swashbuckling annoyance.

At least they contributed to the largest crowd ever?

Great arrangement! You nailed

Great arrangement! You nailed the piccolos! Impressive, 12 parts on the trumpet kind of sounds like a pipe organ.

Yes, it was Carr quoted on a Big Ten Network show talking to Gerry Dinardo. I think it was in the inaugural year of BTN.

I get that, but I think it's

I get that, but I think it's more when he asks them a question. It's always something like "what does James Ross have to do to be successful this year?" I don't know, it just always seems a little awkward to me. I definitely appreciate the interviews though.

I think this is going to be

I think this is going to be the best defense we have had in a long time. Side note, but does Kartsch referring to the players in third-person bother anybody else? Sparty's gonna spart I suppose.

Do you feel confident about your kicker making the game-tying extra point? For some reason I feel like I've seen that movie before.

Did anyone actually watch the video and listen to the song?

"College men from LSU, went in dumb, come out dumb too." The song is called "Rednecks" and the album is "Good Old Boys".

Question

Does anyone know if there will be the "Down With OPP (Other People's Pressers)" posts this year? I like to read the opposing teams' press conferences. Thanks.

That is for 2009. Last year the coverage map came out 2 days before the game.

No surprise. I smoked with

No surprise. I smoked with Mallett on the Thursday before he beat Penn State.

The day after the UConn game

The day after the UConn game I met Denard at Schembechler Hall. He was very nice, in team warmups, getting treatment and working out. After I left I also ran into Tate at Briarwood Mall. He was getting a massage from a girl in one of those chairs in the center of the mall.

I could have caught him on an off day, but the difference in work ethic between the two quarterbacks seemed astounding. Tate's grades weren't the only problem, and unfortunately for him his dad couldn't bail him out. I don't fault DB at all for this.

In 2008 I remember hearing

In 2008 I remember hearing about the 3 paces being called something like "Quick, Indy, and Jet" respectively. I'm not sure if it was just ESPN filling airtime or if there was any validity to it.

Stephen Schilling! Sufferinsuccotash!

Yeah, he honestly looked like

Yeah, he honestly looked like one of our better tacklers. Really wrapped 'em up.

I welcome any TD Jesus iconoclasm.

Good job.

I'm liking mouton--the pick

I'm liking mouton--the pick against nd was huge, and he seems to be in better position this year.

Get your shots in now, folks

Just hit me back with positive points on Saturday when this comes true.

That's some pretty frumpy looking football.

I totally agree. The point is

I totally agree. The point is that it's nothing new and less unbecoming than many of our older chants.

The band doesn't make the

The band doesn't make the phone ring for that chant? Also, I believe the band started the awww see ya chant which led the student section to their current tirade. Maybe the band doesn't cuss, but they certainly facilitate it.

Okay everybody, I was wrong.

Okay everybody, I was wrong. We're on the 8th season of it then? So sorry.

I apologize if I assumed it

I apologize if I assumed it has been 10 years, but I was in school from 2004-2007 (graduated early but was still there for football season) and it was definitely going on. I also remember it from when I was in high school

The hockey band has been

The hockey band has been using variations of "you suck" since the 90s. (hey, miller, that was your mom and she said, you just suck...) this is a spin off of that. They also sing it on blocked kicks, 4th down stops, and possibly turnovers

The student section has been

The student section has been doing that for at least 10 years. It was a hockey chant that got transferred over.
