In Soviet Wisconsin, Bo Ryan tells you where to transfer!

Bad PR... so easy to cause, so hard to fix.

I thought I read Barrett out

I thought I read Barrett out performed Shane at the Dallas camp (but I could be wrong).

I've heard talk of OSU taking one of the Ohio QBs this summer, but it seems like they have limited spots.

Obviously, he loves the big

Obviously, he loves the big guy xoxo

I'm actually proud of

I'm actually proud of twitterverse.  This was 4 days ago and nobody has given a shit about it.  People are finally ignoring Brooks.

Are there 1 stars?  I've

Are there 1 stars?  I've never seen anything lower than a 2 star.

He's obviously no Christian

He's obviously no Christian Hackenberg.

Pretty sure Lenzelle Smith

Pretty sure Lenzelle Smith will start at the 2, considering he was the starter this year.  Find it a little odd that a Buckeye fan wouldn't know that.

Matta is 16-3 against

Matta is 16-3 against Michigan.

Cooper was 2-10-1 (LOL).  Let's say 2-10.

That would mean Matta has to go 16-80 to become John Cooper.

So that would be 77 consecutive loses.  I think some where around 20 loses, they'd blow up their arena.

You should laugh at Ohio fans

You should laugh at Ohio fans who are doubting Matta.  Actually, ignore the last 4 words of the previous sentence.

Average minutes are

Average minutes are deceiving, especially when you don't play every game.

In the 3 games against us, they played a total of 7 minutes (mostly in the BTT blow out).

zero, since we can't give him

zero, since we can't give him a scholly.

So we're now making fun of

So we're now making fun of other teams for having players that never played transfer out?

dammit... was hoping for a

dammit... was hoping for a Brian photobomb.

I support the spirit of what

I support the spirit of what Ace was trying to do, but I can't, in good conscience, support this sort of mathematical chicanery.

"If you combine OSU's class, with another lower rated class, you get a class with a lower average!"

I think Ohio's class is supposed to be pretty small.  I have no doubt it'll be very good, but it probably won't pass ours in most ratings (for what it's worth).

I agree.  Unfortunately, it

I agree.  Unfortunately, it will fall on deaf ears.  I wish I could say we're better than Ohio in this regard, but I'm not seeing it.  I looked into some of the tweets to Bosa, hoping they were "fake" fans, but they definitely were not.

Let's face it.  All fan bases have asshats.  The bigger the fan base, the more the asshats.  Maybe our asshat percentage is 5% compared to Ohio's 10%, but that's still a lot of asshats.

That sounds like too much

That sounds like too much work for an Ohio fan.

Unfortunately, there are idiots like @stevekotarski who seems like a Michigan fan... just a really stupid one.

Anyway, we weren't getting him, but sucks that we represented so poorly, especially since he comes from a pretty good football high school and he might go to Ohio.

True. Like I said, it's not

True. Like I said, it's not totally a bad thing. Unfortunately, I don't think Gardner is as good, and he's not getting the number of reps that Pryor did at Ohio.  He's also not throwing to Posey and Sanzen..whatever.  Yet.

Yea... it's really

Yea... it's really embarrassing.  I assume this happens at every school (or every school that cares about recruiting), but I wish it wouldn't happen to us.

Think Gardner looked bad.  I

Think Gardner looked bad.  I discount the running because it's easy to run with authority when you can't be tackled.  it's also hard on the defense to pull up and "tag" someone down.

I basically think Gardner is Pryor-lite (minus the off field issues).  This can be both a good thing (long strider, good in the open field), and a bad one (odd throwing motion, questionable decisions).

Joey Bosa loved it.  He

Joey Bosa loved it.  He doesn't want to leave, or go back "down south".  He'll be back as soon as he can.

Isn't that some sort of 15

Isn't that some sort of 15 yard penalty to start the game?  I thought somebody (maybe USC) did that intentionally recently.

I wouldn't read too much into

I wouldn't read too much into it.  It's easy to run when you're not allowed to be tackled.

Ace, any truth to Bosa

Ace, any truth to Bosa staying longer in Columbus?  Seems like he's still there.

this would suck... but what

this would suck... but what can you do?

You can read the same

You can read the same complaint/running joke on OSU boards about Michigan.  That's what makes the rivalry fun.

That was my initial

That was my initial impression about foster, except then Foster tweeted an apology to Ohio State and Brian and others pointed out that Foster isn't being recruited by any of the other regional powers.

Cool story bro?
Too bad about

Cool story bro?

Too bad about Butler.  Seems like that would have been a good fit.

Yahoo actually got it from an

Yahoo actually got it from an NCAA source.  OSU had already reported it.

-1 blogger points for writing

-1 blogger points for writing an entire section about what SportsByBrooks said ... especially after he recanted.

some differences:
- local

some differences:

- local media in Ohio seems supportive of Urban (but damn... the Florida media hates him)

- OSU fan base is obviously supportive

- no crazy contract dispute with old school

- Urban has a prior connection to Ohio State.  Even went to school there.

- ex players don't seem to be turning on Urban or saying stupid things

BUT THEY BOTH HAVE THE WORD

BUT THEY BOTH HAVE THE WORD TRUST!!!

This is a big yawn.  Urban's a dick.  He wins games.  Doesn't seem to cheat.  If you want to hate him, there are plenty of reasons to do so.  If you want to love him, there are plenty of reasons to do so.

He treats star players differently.  Big deal.  That happens every where in the big boy world.

When does the season start?  I hate the offseason because it means we have to read crap from people like SportsByBrooks.

I'm pretty sure that both

I'm pretty sure that both teams will have really good classes this year, and every year for the foreseeable.  I laugh when people look at .1 star differences in the averages and think one class is soooo much better than the other.

I actually agree with most of

I actually agree with most of this.  The Tressel stuff got blown up a bit because 1) it was the off-season, 2) it was Ohio State and 3) we didn't know about things like Miami and Penn State yet.  That being said, he still had a couple chances to come clean after the federal investigation ended and he didn't do it.

People seem to forget that Ohio State didn't really get in trouble for Tressel and the tattoo stuff.  They got in trouble for the booster in Cleveland paying players for no show jobs and the like.

I'm ok with this.  You really

I'm ok with this.  You really don't need more than 10 scholarship players  (much less 12), and he's really a role player/backup 2 guard type, which isn't a huge need.  I think his value is primarily due to the fact that he can shoot and he's available late.  I have no problem banking this scholly for next year.

Tressel.  Easily.  Heck, I'd

Tressel.  Easily.  Heck, I'd rather have him play for Tressel than Saban or Meyer.

Here's the test:  explain to a person who doesn't follow college football what Tressel got in trouble for.  They'll think you're talking in parseltongue.  Then try explaining Petrino and I'm sure they'll think he's a jerk.

I speak from experience.  Try explaining most NCAA rules to a random neighbor lady.

no way.  The Targeryens are

no way.  The Targeryens are too cool to be Notre Dame.

Dragons bitches... dragons!

You've got to be shitting me.

You've got to be shitting me.  The cover up by Penn State was astonishing. Once the scandal surfaced Graham Spanier told everyone everything was super peachy and everyone in the athletic department was super awesome.

Comparing it to some random football related crap at OSU is pure homerism.  What happened at PSU is truly sickening.

who knows.  Maybe he learned

who knows.  Maybe he learned a lesson at Florida.

Foster seems like an odd character (like many top WRs).  He even tweeted an apology to OSU fans for his behavior.  Like Brian said, it helps explain the relative lack of interest from us, PSU and ND.

That looks similar to what

That looks similar to what Andy Katz has:

1. Indiana

5. OSU

7. MSU

8. UM

21. Wisconsin

I don't think Bo Ryan has

I don't think Bo Ryan has every finished lower than 4th in the Big Ten, though I can't see placing them above any of the top 4.

I think there's probably a gap between Iowa and the rest, but your prediction seems as good as anything else.

I've seen preseason top 10 lists with 4 Big Ten teams, so it should be an interesting year.

I thought I heard that the

I thought I heard that the signles just "flip" from home to away and vice versa.  I'm too lazy to look this up (though I'm not sure schedules have been announced).

You don't have to be "MSU/IU"

You don't have to be "MSU/IU" level to be tough at home.

[Insert thousands of examples here]

Agree with this.  I also

Agree with this.  I also believe we now have Wisconsin and Minnesota on the road, so those two, along with MSU, OSU and IU, I can easily see 5 losses.

There could certainly be new

There could certainly be new surprises that pop up with Penn State, but it just goes to show what you can do when you have a coach who actually steps off campus and recruits once in a while.

We're from Iowa son!

Not an OSU fan, so not sure why you're addressing "me", but in general, your comments are filled with sweeping generalizations.  Obviously plenty of OSU fans are DERP-y... but there are plenty of those on this board as well.   Every major school has trouble makers.  It's not like Michigan doesn't have problem kids now and again.  That has nothing to do with the university or the citizens of the states of Michigan or Ohio.

I personally find Wisconsin fans to be the worst, but that's just a stupid generalization on my part based on limited sample size.  I don't ACTUALLY think the University of Wisconsin or the state is that different than any other Big Ten state or school.

Phone calls are.  "Bumping"

Phone calls are.  "Bumping" is just an "accidental" meeting and is very vague.  It's basically going to meet a player's coach (which is legal), and then having a player come in say hi while the head coach is talking to the HS coach.  It's really pretty silly stuff.

Tubby seems to be one of the

Tubby seems to be one of the few coaches who does this.  Personally, I think it gets in the way of team chemisty/flow, but he obviously knows more than I do.  I just don't like how it works for the Gophers.  Most coaches seem to settle into an 8-9 man rotation.  There are teams with plenty of talent on the bench (OSU for example) who still stick to a narrow rotation.

You claim to not know 12 OSU

You claim to not know 12 OSU fans, yet you like to make generalizations on the fan base.

People read too much into this stuff.  It's just a damn game.  Not some represenation of good and evil.

I'll take a couple of titles please, even if it means a couple of kids smoke pot (guess what, they do it now) and some kids get preferential treatment (guess what, that happens in the real world too).

Meh.  If this was what

Meh.  If this was what happened, Barry Alvarez would have reported it.  Instead, he told Bret to go to his room and be quite.

I think there were some things that Urban did that Bielema thought were cheating, but were more SEC style "loose interpretation" of the rules.

Things like "bumping", and jersey's with a players number (but not name).  Both are legal, but close to not being legal.  They're basically things that everyone (us included) do.
