As a Hopkins Alum I agree

As a Hopkins Alum I agree with the greatest program ever statement. But I am certainly biased. Sadly, they do not have the most national titles. Sarycuse has 10, Hopkins 9. Hopkins does however have the most championship game appearances if that is worth anything.

New drinking game

Every time an announcer mentions Denard take a drink. I am SO enjoying Michigans "return to relevance" in the eyes of national media. Its fun to have people talking about our team for good reasons.

Not so sure.....

I don't think hiring MSU grads is a very sound business model. Unless you are in the business of burning couches or organizing Posse Roundup & Engineer / Woman Beatdowns.

Mystery solved!

I think we all know what the 502 "error" was now. Just your friendly neighborhood time travelling quarterback sending a message from the future "Hey guys don't worry. 502, we got this."  Dilithium is a wonderful and magical thing.

Sunofamutherbitcher

that is all

And here we go

Need to jump on these bastards right off the bat.

Again...

The guy pulled Ericsson down on top of him, but Ericsson cant have his hands on the guys like that. Can't give him the opportunity. DAMMIT!!

Yeah but....

Bertuzzi knows thats how they have been calling the games, so he can't put himself in that position. He can't poke his stick in there and give the guy the opportunity to grab his stick and cry for a hook. That's why Babcock was upset with the call. Bertuzzi has to play smarter.

Completely shocked

I was sure they were going to review that. What a nice surprise.

GOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL
Odds on wings penalty in the next 30 sec?

Odds on wings penalty in the next 30 sec?

Daryl Reaugh

The target of my contempt for the night. So far.....

Daryl Reaugh

He is the main culprit. I could do without this guy.

Wish we could tell the versus guys that

I could do without all of this "they have to score on this pp" crap. More than 2 periods left, down by 1. It is not a make or break pp.

I hate to agree........

Since I know I have on red wings goggles, I try not to complain about the calls. But I have to say that there have been some pretty soft penalties. The 2 minute minor to Franzen for getting hit in the face with a stick in game 1 comes to mind.

Helm

Anyone else see Helm go down looking hurt after hitting someone?

edit: nevermind he is back on the ice

I'm ready for a long night....

Let's send this thing into overtime!

Agreed

It's not every day you see someone take a penalty for getting hit in the face with a stick.

Hopefully he comes back. When he decided to leave last year, the paper which must not be named suggested he might be back after one year. I can't fault a guy for taking the money. This is one of the drawbacks of the salary cap. If your team has an awesome owner who is willing to pay for the talent in order to win, it is frustrating that they are prevented from doing so. I hope he is back next year. The wings could use him.
Should only be 48-72 hours It is extremely contagious. So if you live with others make sure you are all doing lots of hand washing. Avoid dehydration with gotorade or something similar. If you are still going frequently after 72 hrs, or you start getting really dehydrated (dry mouth and eyes, splitting headache) go to the hospital.
Yes....yes it is...... I have no witty response. All I can say is: true.
All good suggestions Stand here Mike Babcock may be my favorite. Another +1 if you know how he finds where to stand at away games.
Try it blindfolded Saw a timely story on CNN. Full of win. http://www.cnn.com/video/?/video/us/2010/03/03/dnt.blind.gamer.beats.ze…
Never Went In They showed the replay. It was on the outside of the net. But you are right. It certainly looked like it was in the net when I saw it during game play.
Basketball Cheering for a solid hoops team should help carry us through the bowl season.
Yeah, I got a text from an Yeah, I got a text from an OSU fan I know at the beginning of the game saying something about it. I blew him off, then when I saw the shot from the air my heart sank. These "fans" always want to throw around words like unacceptable when talking about Michigan football the last two years. Well, bailing on your team like this because of a little adversity is unacceptable.
Yeah I understand that. My comment was meant as a suggestion that may explain why the statistic calculated doesn't seem to show a correlation with good teams or bad teams. As stated in the OP, one answer could be small sample size. Another could be that the good teams are scoring from outside the redzone.
Historical? Are older numbers available? Maybe it would make more sense if you had numbers from an entire season, and it would be interesting to see what a Carr or Bo team would look like.
I agree. Maybe it would make I agree. Maybe it would make more sense if you looked at the number of touchdowns that were scored on plays of >20 yards and the number of field goals of >20 yards.
Slightly OT, but since Brian brought it up Mornhinweg took the wind? The way I remember it in the post-game presser he said something completely asinine to the effect of "our defense was playing so well I thought we could stop them" (despite the fact that their D had just given up the game tying drive to send it to OT). Maybe he later rationalized it by saying something about the wind? My point is, it was the worst coaching decision of all time because it lacked any logic based on reality. He apparently thought they could win the game simply by stopping the Bears from scoring.
Band Could Do More My dad is alumni of a MEAC school (they compete against the SWAC) and I can tell you that the clip you saw of the Southern band is the rule and not an exception of what bands are like in those conferences. The football teams are pretty bad and honestly, most people come to see the band. They usually do a pre-game show, a halftime show, and a post-game battle of the bands. They also play during the course of the game. On more than one occasion I have seen the band instructed by the announcer to quiet down at the request of the officials because they were rockin' too hard (I doubt the officials put it like that, but you get my point). Nonetheless, I'm not saying MMB needs to change their marching style or anything like that, and they certainly will never become the focal point on game day, but they could do a whole lot more to improve the game day experience.
I like your spin Initially when I saw Denard fail to progress through his reads and find a receiver, I took it as a sign that he is not quite ready to be the #1 guy(which is probably largely true). However, if you look at it in the context that he made one read, and pulled it down and ran if his throw wasn't there or he thought he couldn't fit it in, then you have to say that he made really good decisions. Definitely better than the alternative of firing the ball into the hands of a waiting defender a la Sheridan. I certainly hope he continues to mature quickly. Having two QB's that can give different looks will help to keep opposing D's off balance, which will definitely be useful as the season goes on.
Looking forward to seeing the other designs Since you brought up showing other shirts, is there or will there be a "Denard Robinson is made of dilithium" shirt?
This shirt keeps getting This shirt keeps getting better every time I look at it. Check out Herkeys' arm...intentional or not it looks kinda like a chicken drumstick! Oh the hilarity. One question, the body underneath the leprechaun head and on top of Pete's hammer, is that Bucky Badger's body?
Fantastic! This shirt is almost flawless. I love that Brutus' ribs are sticking out, that's just great. I also agree that a chipped tooth on the Beaver would be pretty funny. I would support putting the quote from montanatrappers.org on the back. I know people don't like lots of words, and that there is reluctance to do a two sided shirt for cost reasons, but I think it would be worth it. I have tried to explain countless times why I don't think we need a mascot, this shirt conveys all of those sentiments. Well done sir.
