I don’t know what’s going to happen, just what has happened. I feel confident in the “lone wolf” of it all but with the NCAA, that doesn’t necessarily matter.
Been teasing all week the bombshell Balas put out (the WaPo article shed a lot of light reading between the lines) but I didn’t know names and such as I know Balas does at this point.
As far as any punishment or lack thereof, your guess is as good as mine. The NCAA and Big Ten aren’t legal entities and very well could try.
Michigan is going to have a full handle on the situation before it can leak it to someone on a national level. Also, that’s not how sourcing works—we can’t just tell you everything in advance. If we just told you everything we know or think we know from sources, it a. burns the source, b. potentially impedes the moving parts in the investigation and thus could damage the investigation, c. some sources are not authorized to speak publicly about things but have a full handle on what’s going on; there are parts of this I’ve been asked to withhold for one reason or another. I’m not the only one in that boat, by a long shot.
What’s more important? That you know now or that Michigan finds its way out of this? It will play out and then once it does, all of us who have been sharing nuggets of what we know will be able to tell you what we knew in full and, hopefully, it will be on the better end of things.
That said, I tell people what I can when I can. And when I can’t, I try to still lead people to conclusions analogous to what I can’t say.
For those who say I’m doing whatever for clicks yada yada yada, I would rather not do the podcast than mislead (note how sporadic I tend to post).
Sorry I can’t say everything. It’ll all come out soon enough. If you’ve followed the last two weeks, then you’ll see that everything I’ve insinuated has come to pass.
As far as the weeks, months, years part, what I’m saying is when it’s over, we’ll be able to fully break it all down. But in no way can that happen now (for quite obvious reasons considering there’s an actual NCAA investigation happening).
Tepid optimism. Just for clarity. My source wasn’t like “yeaahhhhh Michigan’s getting him!” as much as “they feel good and did a lot to put themselves in a good position.”
None of us are being fired. Our entire staffs are combining and most of our roles aren't changing. We'll just be able to provide more comprehensive, quality material than we were even before.
Currently very confident, but like all things recruiting, it can change with the wind. If he (Solomon) were choosing today, I'm confident it would be Michigan.
I'm a team writer covering Michigan, so I don't necessarily have my ear to the ground for other programs. In retrospect it looks like I'm cherry picking, but I put in a CB to players like Ambry Thomas a long time ago, when the writing wasn't on the wall.
Some like Ruiz I put in far later, when it was pretty certain, but I also don't throw my CB against the wall to see if it sticks. Once sources give me enough credence to be above a certain threshold is when I put in a CB.
I've also put in a few of my picks before my colleague Steve Lorenz has, like with Filiaga.
It's all good! It doesn't upset me or anything, but it's almost as old as people asking if I'm Isiah Thomas, just because my first name is Isaiah. It's always just like, okay, cool lol

I ain’t reading all that.
I’ve obviously had things to report. They’ve been reported. You’re entitled to your opinion and I wish you the best.

Who said they’re not?

Thanks for listening!
He wasn't talking smack. Most I'll say is the game played out how he expected.
Wasn’t at practice pre-OSU but ok cool
They’re fully intending to play.
Neither has made a decision of any sort at this juncture.
Correct.
Hope you’re not referring to me here.
Well this is fun
Thanks and I certainly agree on DG?

Nope, always been blackgandhi.
Because he knows Football beyond just being a quarterback and I asked him about Hill’s game. Just like you might see, you know, elsewhere.
Half black
Just posted my (free) article with Hill's reaction to his visit, if you want to check it out. Will also have him on the podcast tomorrow morning.

We’ve posted four total articles on Harrison FWIW.
Lol sorry! Didn’t want people to circle the calendar waiting for something to happen.
The DJ Turner thing isn’t Michigan related, per Turner.

Much appreciated!
That was in response to who I endorse for mayor. Or you meant Mark Rogers. Idk.
Kirby Puckett.
He’s a Devin Gardner protege. I got quotes from DG about why he thinks the kid is special at such a young age.

It still may have been the case, but I also Crystal Balled NPF to Ohio State this morning based off what that same source told me.
Except I'm not a white guy...

I have a fake Twitter war with Brice (note: I'm Isaiah Hole)
Oh wait, he’s not reading this and this isn’t Twitter. Carry on.
Wholeheartedly second this. Long Live the King is probably my favorite overall.
Also really dig Neanderthals (although the super high nicotine makes them an infrequent for me) and pretty much anything by Viaje.
I did a quick story on Veingrad a few days ago. He's already beat some tough odds, overcoming cancer.

I actually didn't! I learned something for the day!

I'm just not as active on the MGoBoard as I was back then. I usually read all the front page content, but only peruse the boards once a week or so.
LOL live with this last name and you hear it damn near every day. It's not hilarious the 16,000th time you hear it.
Correct.
I make them independent of Lorenz or Wiltfong.
I just haven't decided what I want to do with his CB yet.
I guess the pressure is on me to keep it at 100%.
