MGoPodcast 3.6: Halfway There, Halfway Here
So… the first half of this week's podcast was corrupted to the point where you could listen to it but by the end of it you'd probably be homicidal. I decided I didn't want rivers of baby blood on my hands as well as pouring from my eyes on bubble screens, so there is no me this time around.
But Ace did talk to Jamie of Just Cover about the state of the Big Ten—still Big-Ten-alicious—and that came through just fine. So here's that section of the podcast surrounded by the usual music and an intro by Ace that is all lies.
I'll be local next week so hopefully we don't have whatever that problem was again.
The usual links:
- Helpful iTunes subscribe link
- General podcast feed link
- Direct download link
- What's with the theme music?
Apologies. Here is a song by Jason Isbell I heard on the Black Shoe Diaries/Black Heart Gold Pants Unholy Alliance podcast that I think is good.

Regarding your confusion about why Bolden is playing for Penn State. I'm from Central Pennsylvania and the word is if he doesn't play he'll transfer and Penn State needs him for depth purposes. I know, sounds silly, but that has been the speculation amongst Penn State fans for a while now.

"rivers of baby blood" is now officially overused.

It felt like I was listening to a secret bonus track or something. I thought you guys added some interesting points in that section, and I think there could be some really entertaining whining coming out of Madison if they get passed over in favor of a one-loss LSU team.
It did feel like you were about to launch into some kind of embarrassing discussion. Try to work that in next time: maybe one of you can start up a subplot about a mysterious rash that you can't get rid of. It doesn't have to be true, just try to make it exciting and develop the story throughout the season.
Also, I'd like to chime in on the difficulty of getting these on my phone. Does anyone know of a way to subscribe to the podcasts on an Android phone? I use the Google Listen app, and while I can subscribe to the feed, none of the podcasts ever get synced there. It's not the worst thing because I can just download the podcasts manually, but it would be nice if they just automatically showed up on my phone.

I think Jamie summed it up rather nicely at the end there. Who the fuck knows?

That really does suck for Wisconsin that the B1G is so down this year. If they go undefeated and don't go to the BCS championship game...mega bummer.

If Oklahoma loses and Wisconsin wins out (which is probable), they'll be ing the NCG.

I think you're forgetting their game against UM in the B1G championship game.

Is there a special trick to get these to download into iTunes? Keeps showing an error message. I have a long flight tomorrow, and this would be a perfect way to pass some of the time.

I disagree with Illinois. They one of of the most underwhelming 6-0 teams I've seen in a while. They barely beat Western, had to have a big comeback against NW, and looked pretty blah against Indiana. Their only quality game is against Arizona State.
And I disagree with Jamie about the Sparty game as well. This game is a lot more even than he thinks. IF we can keep trnovers to a minimal (we got picked three times last year, twice in the red zone), they lost Greg Jones and that CB that shouldn't of played half the season anyways, and their offensive line should get dominated by MM and co. I think the improvement in our defense will make the difference, and we win a hard fought game on the road.

Regarding itunes, I'm still getting this error:

PEOPLE HAVING TROUBLE DOWNLOADING:
Right click "direct download link"
Click "save link as" - this will save the podcast as an mp3
Save it to your music folder
Upload to itunes/whatever else
If you don't know how to upload it to itunes, you click 'file' --> 'add file to library' from the itunes menu. Then just select the podcast, and it will be uploaded to your itunes library.

I've been doing this every week, but it sure would be nice if the podcast would sync with my phone the same way all my other podcasts do. This "solution" is kind of a pain in the ass, not to mention that the podcast usually gets posted while I'm at work and if it would sync with my phone I could listen to it on the way home.
