No he’s enrolling early in January
Has Cali moved football to the spring? This would explain the "forgoing senior season" part.
Yes it has. It was announced a couple days ago
Not re-classifying - just skipping the season.
Is this a good thing ?
It means he will participate in spring practice, 2021, assuming it happens.
Not risking injury playing senior ball (which still might not happen anyway), and instead will be practicing with his college teammates and coached and trained by Michigan's staff. I'd say that's a good thing.
Given the alternatives....yeah seems like a good thing. Rather have him play his senior season in the fall, but since that won't happen, him being in Spring Practice is probably better than playing football in the Spring and then coming up to AA after a full Spring of High School ball.
Going to be interesting to see what the late bloomer type kids do with a Senior season in the Spring. This might be a recruiting boom for the Junior Colleges.
I would bet that signing day will be pushed back to April.
Giles is gonna be a star. And I think so is this kid. Hard to beleive how well they've recruited at wr after Black and DPJ underwhelmed.
Black had injury issues, but I do see and agree with your overall point.
Doesn't change the fact that he underwhelmed.
A fair point on the recruiting success. Securing elite WR recruits after how Black and DPJ underwhelmed is a major victory. And some of the reason Black and DPJ underwhelmed was the failure of the offense and the QB to get them the ball. 2017 was the Speight / O'Korn / Peters debacle. Calvin Johnson would've looked pedestrian in that offense. 2018 was Shea stepping up small. 2019 took half of a season for new offense to hit its stride. In that context, hitting home runs on the recruiting trail is impressive.
UHHHHHHHHHHH Georgia Tech's QB was who?
Georgia Tech's QB was... smart enough to throw it up and let him go get it a few times a game. Nico's been severely underutilized the past two years.
Can't get this kid to campus soon enough. Leggooooo
Love this kid's attitude. Could be a game changer.
This is awesome if only to show that he is completely committed to M. We know how these things can go towards the end of recruiting cycles with rising prospects.
Good news for Michigan Football. He'll get the coaching and strength training needed to progress to the next level.
Xavier!
I wonder if the NCAA will waive early enrollee limits. Seems like a lot more kids will want this option.
