Miles was a good hire for them. He's got his issues, but he's had a good overall tenure there. It's hard to really complain about the hiring of a coach who lasts over a decade and wins over 100 games.

George O'leary stated he wanted to retire after their upset win over Baylor a few years ago. The AD somehow convinced him to stay but O'leary stated publicly he checked out after said win.

That's not true. I have interacted with Fitz personally many times over the 5 years I played a sport at NU and he is a wonderful guy. I guarantee he is always very concerned about the health and safety of not just his players but the whole NU community. He's a dork yes but despite appearances he was not cheering about a flag at the expense of his player. That's like saying Brady Hoke didn't care about the health of his players because of the Shane Morris incident. It might appear that way in that moment but we all know Brady Hoke would never ever knowingly put a kid out there like that.
