Women's Football Academy -submit your questions

Submitted by maizemama on
Women's Football Academy is on Saturday (yea!), so I thought I'd give you guys a chance to submit some questions that you want me to ask the players. I will add some disclaimers: 1. I have no control over who attends, so your question may not be able to be asked. 2. Even if certain popular players are there, I may or may not get some time with them. 3. I won't ask any rude or off color questions, or questions that would embarrass me to ask. I know it sounds silly, but sometimes I run out of things to ask about, so I ask about school, classes, boring mom type stuff. I will try to post a report shortly after the event.

If you see anyone on offense, I am curious as to their thoughts on how the installation of Nussmeier's scheme is going, and I think others might be as it is probably one of the keys to success this year. Could they put a percentage on it, even a rough one? In their estimation, are their certain aspects of the scheme that are easier or harder?

Caveat - We may not have seen their true improvement during the Spring Practice, given that it was just practice. Is the overall sense among the players that the unit will better this year even with the loss of two players to the NFL?

During the PSU game last year, when Borges dialed up Fitz's number for the27th and last time for the night, did anybody need to be restrained from going up into the booth and punching Al in the head?

I used to be 100% MaryAnn, year after year.  The perky girl next door, yadda yadda, yadda.

But as I get older . . . I've really embraced the wanton sleeziness that was Ginger Grant.

Oh yeah, my football question . .
"What causes Pip in poultry?"

Don't forget Lovey Howell.  There were three woman on that island, not two.  Not sure Thurston was taking care of business if you know what I mean.

I almost wonder if the team has a feeling of determination to win this year because they sucked so bad or do they just do enough practice stuff to keep the coaches happy and whatever happens on Saturday happens. I mean we saw the what the team from 2005 do in 2006.

lost by 7, 3, 3, 4, and 4.  The' 05 team also beat end-of-year #3 PSU.  The 1996 team lost by 1, 4, 12 (5 TOs and a blocked punt returned for a TD vs PSU), and by 3.  The '96 team also beat end-of-year Top 5 Colorado and tOSU, both on the road.   THey got a little better, and the highly competitive losses became wins (or at least, mostly for the '06 team.)

Conversely, the 2013 team got absolutely smoked by MSU and by KSU.  And the marquee win was against a 30ish Notre Dame at home.

96 and '05 could have been great years.  '13 could have been an absolute disaster.

Very good point. I just know that the 2005 team emphasized that their poor showing was unacceptable for a Michigan team and really made the strides necessary to be more successful the following year. I'd just like to get that same feeling from this team. I get the feeling they are becoming complacent with mediocrity because outside of 2011 we've been mediocre (at best) since 2008 or so.

So basically I would ask, "what are you guys doing to prevent from having another bad year?" If it's just some fluff response then I'd be worried.

I'm sorry I'm going to miss it this year. Here's my question for the largest player you can find: What does a normal day of eating look like for you??   Also, what is his favorite Ann Arbor restaurant and what does he eat there?

ask them what they think about former players like Woodson, Hutchinson and Griese coming back to support the hospital and if they have plans to play role in supporting the hospital? If so, what do those plans include? I know that these are kids and this thought may not be at the forefront of their mind right now, but you never know until you ask. Someone could surprise you.

If my Daughter is reading this thread you are not allowed near her....

Until you complete your MBA then you can ask my permission.

Because that is how things go in the H2V house for sure.

I've decided I am going to ask about general topics that I think will actually provoke a conversation. I'm going to start out with asking about negative recruiting - what their experiences with it were like when they were in high school, what kind of impact they think it has, do they think it is ok and to what extent, etc.
