Carlos Hyde - the former buckeye

It's our biggest win vs the Buckeyes in many years!
/please kill me

I beg to differ - we beat OSU in the Blood Battle last year 1938-1525 pints; and have won 8 of the last 12 years. So, we've got that going for us.

We’re not on the same level in football to be sure, but we’re better than them at pretty much everything else. Except pooping in coolers, we’ll never be their equal on that front.

Chase is considerably bigger this year! He destroyed Hyde, that was hysterical!
September 22nd, 2020 at 12:00 PM ^
Wow, impressive by Chase. He always had speed and could get around people or even out-motor them. If he has now added a bull-rush to his repertoire, he will be a fearsome pass rusher in the NFL.

Is putting in time as a nose tackle.

“It definitely wasn’t expected, but it worked really well in camp,” Winovich said when asked about moonlighting as a nose tackle in Week 1. “And it was one of those things that I’m not sure of Coach’s inspiration for it, but he told me to go down there, and I said, ‘You know what? I’m gonna do the best I can and kind of use my skillset in kind of an untraditional manner for that position at that part of the field.’

OP, you need to be a little quicker:

I kid. That's fun to watch multiple times.
September 22nd, 2020 at 9:55 AM ^
Saw that, it was fun to watch! Wish we saw a bit more of that in college uniforms, but in fairness to Chase he was banged up for the last meeting and these two never played at the same time. We'll always have Frank Clark leveling Braxton Miller though! :)
September 22nd, 2020 at 10:00 AM ^
I think about that hit from time to time and it still amazes me how Braxton did not fumble that ball. Literally any other QB on any other team would've not only fumbled, but probably had to leave the game and not come back. Clark got a full head of steam, completely unguarded, and absolutely leveled Braxton.
Somehow the kid just got right back up like nothing ever happened. Michigan-OSU in a microcosm.

I think Clark basically not only wrapped up Miller, but also he wrapped up the ball tight to Miller's body which prevented him from fumbling. Miller took it like a champ, but certainly was on the ground for a minute to get his wits about him before getting back up.

Yeah you can't tell me that lining up across from Hyde isn't personal to Winovich. They may not have played against each other in college, but he still knows where Hyde went to school.
Curious to see what Winovich would do to Dobbins or Haskins should he get the chance.
September 22nd, 2020 at 10:50 AM ^
He would probably make a t-shirt to tell them what he is going to do to them.
September 22nd, 2020 at 11:15 AM ^
I was all-in and have one of those T shirts.
It currently has car wax all over it.
September 22nd, 2020 at 2:43 PM ^
He had his chance against Haskins and Dobbins in 2018

Winovich is an animal the opt outs have to be getting nervous with his motor
September 22nd, 2020 at 11:05 AM ^
Chase wacked Hyde like he was Hyde and Hyde was a girl in a bar.
September 22nd, 2020 at 2:13 PM ^
Don't know why you got downvoted for finding a segway to introduce Carlos Hyde's obvious character issues. +1 to you.
September 22nd, 2020 at 11:11 AM ^
I'm sure Winovich said "Excuse me" somewhere there.

A bunch of UM players looking great in the NFL. Looks like once our guys are getting paid and don't have to play skool, they start looking like professional football players - what a concept.

Except for the fact that the Academic Progress Rate at OSU is better than ours. In fact - they are second to only Northwestern. We are tied for 4th with Illinois. So tired of our lame excuses.
September 22nd, 2020 at 1:22 PM ^
LOL - Academic Progress Rate. Who is determining the athlete's eligibility?
Oh, right, the school itself.
Ole Miss! is ranked 2nd, above Northwestern which is 3rd. Clemson is 5th, above Stanford which is 6th, tied with Bama. Maybe find a more reliable metric than APR to support your point.
If you can't see that some schools are running football factories shoving students through the system and others are not, well, you are either lying to yourself or incredibly naive.

He's an Ohio State fan doing that weird "we" masquerading thing.

Best comment of the week. Might be training in NFL is similar to Westside Barbell, biggest roid gym in US. Westside Barbell is located in Columbus, Ohio.

Hyde was not in optimal form to block—he was moving to his right, didn't have his feet set under him, and his momentum was putting him off-balance. Chase has the quickness and strength to use that to his advantage, shoving Hyde in the direction he was already going.
September 22nd, 2020 at 12:05 PM ^
When a train is coming you have to get out of the way!
September 22nd, 2020 at 2:06 PM ^
You are absolutely correct. And none of it takes away from my enjoyment of it.
September 22nd, 2020 at 7:37 PM ^
Seems like Chase could have taken a more inside route but wanted to level Hyde before blowing the play up. Love it.

Revenge Tour NFL style

impressive shuck but hyde was moving laterally for two steps and didn't get squared up to Chase who was moving in a straight line faster. I wouldn't say tossed like a rag doll but definitely got the better of him
