Mrazek really hasn't been tested or had to keep TB in check.
AA looks great.

Well that was fun. If they can do it again Tuesday we might actually have a puncher's chance.

All three of them especially love to dish out cheap shots. And then Boyle, after sucker-punching Abdelkader, leaves the ice flapping both his jaws and arms. What a POS!
Abdelkader kind of had the chicken taunt coming. He pounded the guy that was down on the ice last game, but then wouldn't go straight up against Boyle. Typical Sparty.
I wasn't there... streamed on CBC... but WTF was up with Abby keeping his gloves on?
Pretty sure Abs had his hands taped. If he would've started punching Boyle with tape I think he could be suspended.
Now things will get interesting...GREAT crowd.

Joe Sweet Joe
Not only a win but, a shutout. One game does not a series make but, whoa.

that your Blackhawks lost!
(edit: and i just saw one of the goals they gave up in the process of blowing the lead. Shot from the next county, it took a high bounce and completely fooled the goalie (almost as bad as the one the Flyer's goalie gave up yesterday). )

I despise the Hawks but the 2 goals you speak of are no where near the same. Mason's gaffe was arguably the worst goal in NHL playoff history. The one Crawford let in hit a shin pad, bounced downward off the ice, and bounced up into the top corner. Not exactly the same as a 100 foot tipped shot from center ice.

Crawford actually played a pretty stellar game too. He kept them in it for a long time. The problem is that Elliott at the other end is having an unbelievable playoffs thus far. 104 saves on 109 shots in 3 games for Elliott. Those are absurd numbers.

Awesome goal by Athanasiou. A lotta puck luck on the 2nd goal: broken stick on initial shot, puck bounces off the boards, goalie misplays it, it goes off both Zetterberg's skates without a distinct kicking motion for the goal.
Not many penalties at the end: Abs & Boyle got 10 min misconducts, as did Killorn; Carle got 2 min for slashing. I guess Lightning guys on the bench can mug our players all they want. Boyle got away with the chickenshit sucker punch, with an assist from the linesman grabbing Abs, who still had his gloves on. WTF?!
LGRW!

I was at Game 7 against St Louis 20 years ago. That is the gold standard for sure. Not even the Colorado games I went to had the same feel as that one.

Brendan Smith made Blashall look like a genius by playing the way he did last night. He was all over the ice. Blocking shots, drawing plenties, couple timely bone crushing checks and lastly protecting his captain at the end of the game. I was very impressed and hope he gives this effort more regularly. I thought he should have been the 3rd star last night.

It's frustrating to watch the youngsters sit because Blashill and Holland want to play "low-event" hockey. I played and I definitely get why you want to try to win 1-0 and 2-1 games when you're going to be outgunned, but when that's not working you might as well unshackle the kids and let them learn and grow.
Was really surprised how young the crowd was that came out for this game. Felt like most of the people there were between 26-35.
Initially I was kinda meh when they played EDM after some stoppages, but it really got the crowd going. I started to enjoy it!
