Win Stuff Results: U Not LV
A confession: I was motivated to go through the scores after the Utah game because I hoped my 17-21 guess was close enough to win. After the frontpage shout-out, I figured I might as well continue through any remaining contests. I couldn't do last week's ntOSU contest because comments were frozen after the game. I speculate that was to prevent posters from guessing the correct score after the game had already played out. Don't worry Seth; I filter by time too.
Most everyone guessed UNLV would fail to break 10 points on our defense, but very few thought Michigan's offense would not break 40 points, much less 30. Fortunately for me, this week the winner both guessed the answer dead-on and announced after the game that they won. Congrats to 'Gabranto'; your tempered expectations of Michigan's offense has earned you some extra reading material.

Also I think we need to temper our hopes for the offense, at least this early in the season.

our expectations with the offense. I would not want to even try to predict how many wins U M would end up with. Until this QB can throw the deep ball enough to get defenses around the league to fear his deep threat. I think its impossible to guess how many wins they could get this year. if defenses are gonna pin their ears back and blitz till he shows somebody he can throw the ball deep. They may also keep 9 in the box and dare U M to run. Thats why I have no Idea and I expect no one else has any idea how many games could be won by this team with the problems on offense they have right now.
At the same time this has to be one of the best defenses we have had in a while, probably since 2007. It is just another reason its next to impossibe to say what this defense is capable of. Can they carry the offense through some tougher games I suppose so. Can the offense be able to right some of the QB issues by State.....Then score some points of their own. Hence the problem with guessing how many wins are possible. I believe we can beat State, I believe we can lose to State too. Same goes for that university that screwed up the spelling on their N C trophy.
