Wimbledon- Great Day for USA Men

Finally, a very solid day for the Americans.

Cressy knocked off FAA- watched the whole thing- probably the biggest stunner of the tourney.

Fritz, Sock, Opelka, Isner, C. Harrison, Tiafoe, S. Johnson, Tommy Paul, Brooksby, Nakashima, Cressy (Cressy v Sock next round), Giron all through to the second round. Lots of opportunities here, especially with Nadal looking really shaky right now on the grass and with injuries.

Whoops!

Side note: I have not watched much women's tennis over the last decade so I may be uninformed... but Serena seems to have a slow lumbering running style, am I right?  It felt to me like she was surviving on wits and sheer power.  Also she looked super gassed towards the end of the last set but that was understandable.  She hasn't played competitive tennis in a long time.

Don't they all normally lose next round.  Then the one or 2 that make it lose the following round?

So, who would be the best bet of the US guys to get to a quarterfinals and finally break through?

Probably Fritz.

I think after him, Cressy. Fritz and Cressy would run into each other if they both continue to win, and I would like Fritz to get through. But, that would guarantee at least someone in the round of 16 if they both get to the 3rd round.

Brooksby also has a super easy draw at the top of the bottom half- he could definitely make a run.

In the top section- Tommy Paul. He's been playing great tennis and his section kinda sucks too.

Haven't played tennis competitively since my high school days in the 1960s, but played in the 1975 U. S. Open Media Tournament when the U. S. Open was played at the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, New York.

Haven't followed professional tennis as closely as I once did, so neither "Cressy" nor "FAA" meant anything to me (except in reference to the Federal Aviation Administration). Today I learned that Maxime Cressy, the French-American who's ranked No. 45 in the world earned his first Top 10 win by beating sixth-seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime.
