Why can I never spit out these UM football players names?
So I am really bad with names, and when watching highlights it drives me crazy that I can never spit out their names right. For Michigan players there are three sets that I always have to think before I say.
Mouton vs Mondros
Cox vs Shaw
Roundtree vs Stonum
Hagerup vs HaNgerup (?)
Anyone the same way????????

You have trouble spitting out Cox?

The player pairs are markedly different in build and appearance and I want to smack people who repeatedly screw up the same name consistently (WoolfoLk GODDAMNIT), so I make sure I don't do this myself.

Cuz you're supposed to say them, not spray them.

Actually, the one name I always have to remind myself about is a recruit: Kevin Sousa
I always go the John Philip route in my brain.

Yeah, I have a hell of a time remembering that Kelvin Grady moved on and that his little brother Kevin is a slot ninja now.

I don't know if you intentionally switched the names up or not? But, Kelvin is the slot ninja (/cornerback [fingers crossed]), and Kevin has moved on...

Yup, you saw what I did there. Nice work.

I always wanna say Hangerup not Hagerup. It may have something to do with him being a punter and I desperately want his name to be attached to his position.

If it comes out Hangerup by mistake, just tell people that's your nickname for him. Makes perfect sense.

I thought I had Yruretagoyena figured out (yuh-rur-uh-tuh-GOY-en-uh), but then I heard it and I was totally wrong. But I would have needed a redshirt year before I could go live with the real pronunciation. Which reminds me of these two clips:

When someone says their last names I get who they are talking about, but their first name used to take me a second to match the player to.

Isn't it MoUndros?

They are names to be savored.

Omameh... I don't even bother trying anymore
