When is JD announcing?

Submitted by Mgoblue0405 on November 29th, 2022 at 9:03 AM

With us finally getting a little momentum on the recruiting trail, I wanted to see if anyone has heard when Jadyn Davis is announcing? Last I heard was after his season, and with the season being done I wanted to see if Sam or anyone has posted details on when he's thinking. A commitment from him could really springboard recruiting across the board by getting a leader for the class, and also after a HUGE win in Columbus last weekend. Thanks yall. Go Blue!

This should give you the info you are seeking.

TLDR is he's got officials to take still to Georgia, Maryland, and LSU but it sounds like we are still in play the way he gushed about us beating Ohio State.

And I quote, “That’s a really good win for Michigan. That’s a really big statement. Everybody thought Ohio State was going to come back and said it was going to be a revenge game. But Michigan showed they are the true kings of the Big Ten East.”

Michigan is willing to let him play tight end at his current size essentially. He’d be a flex tight end or like a Devin Funchess freshman year type of player. With loads of talent and speed. He’d be a perfect fit for a 50-50 ball kind of guy. Or think Nico Collins just slightly bigger and much faster.

Pretty much every recruiting guy I've heard comment on Harbor has said that school's will let him play Flex TE/WR like he wants to, but they all think he ends up at DE long term. Suppose it will depend on his track success and how his whims may change. His upside at WR is high but will be a project, whereas at DE he could come in and probably contribute situationally right away. They are guessing wherever he goes, he may want to change his mind and switch to D as that plays out, but the X factor is track and how attached he remains to that through his career.

It seems to me that a high caliber football star could make more money than a track star. In addition, Track is more of in individual sport where your times are really what matters. With that being said, he could get a superior education, be a high draft pick, make tons of money in the NFL and still be the number 1 track athlete in the world at Michigan. Somebody talk to this young man and let him know where his bread is buttered.

Harbor and JD remain very good possibilities.  But in today’s college football world, NIL is as important as winning. Both recruits  could be delaying making a commitment to extract higher NIL offers. That is the way of the world in college football recruiting today. And any commitment given means nothing until signing day.

Title doesn't say who JD is, doesn't identify the sport, doesn't say what's being announced, and asks a question nobody knows the answer to. Excellent post.
