Werenski to return
Michigan defenseman and number eight overall pick Zach Werenski will return to Michigan for his sophomore year. NHL.com story:
Werenski confirmed for NHL.com that he will return to the University of Michigan for his sophomore year. There was speculation that the 6-foot-2, 221-pound left-handed shot would play for London of the Ontario Hockey League in 2015-16. London selected Werenski in the second round (No. 24) of the 2013 OHL draft.
Good news. Below is a highlight video from the US vs. Finland National Junior Evaluation Camp game last night, Werenski scored in overtime for a 5-4 win.
I bet Harbaugh had a talk with him
He's a big boy! Usually kids his age haven't filled out yet, but he's already a solid size for an NHL defenseman.
I only got to see the 8-3 route of OSU in person this season, but Werenski had a big physical presence even as a seventeen year old against a substantially older squad.
Hopefully he's lights out and helps give Red a decent farewell.
Good news from hockey? Mind cannot comprehend . . . .
I didn't think I'd hear good hockey news again till after Red retired. Thank you Zach
