I was 8 years old, the Tigers had just won the '68 WS and with my father, we were guests at a dinner honoring the Detroit team. Imagine my dismay when I didn't recognize any of the names much less recognize my heroes Mickey Lolich and Bill Freehan. Then my father explained, they were honoring the other big cats in Detroit, the Lions.
