  • “It was unclear what exactly the injury to Johnson involved, but he was in visible pain before being helped off the field. He was clearly favoring his right leg and not putting much weight on it after the injury.”

  • “After being tackled from behind on third down, Johnson was seen writhing in pain on the turf. He was only able to put a little weight on his right foot and was ushered by trainers into the medical tent before being carted from the field after the game. At the time of his injury, Johnson posted a team-high 21 carries for 49 yards and two touchdowns. ”

Yup. They won the Joe Moore Award. From the Joe Moore website:

Over the season’s last five games, which included four games against ranked opponents (two of them in the top-10), Washington averaged 162.0 rushing yards per game. Among the teams UW beat in that five-game run were Utah (No. 4 in the nation in rushing defense), Oregon (No. 11), and Oregon State (No. 15).

Run game seems very important to me.

Much like playing OSU, it'll probably come down to forcing FGs or allowing TDs. They'll almost surely rack up yardage. Their bellcow RB who has 14 rushing TDs is probably a big factor in the red area. He has 201 carries, 1,113 yards & 5.5/carry. Next closest ball carriers on the roster have 31/194/6.3 and 38/163/4.3.

From what I can remember, he averaged 2.3 yards per carry, with 21 carries. I hope he recovers. Michigan D was ferocious tonight. Like a pack of wild dogs. Go Blue!!

I have watched Washington play several times this season and this guy is a damn good RB and really compliments their finesse passing game with some tough physical running.  They need him to be healthy.

.....and with an opposing defense that has worst defending the run stats than half the MAC.  We are built to beat a Stroud-led OSU and this will be one with a glaring weakness on defense.  Huskies coach has been offensive genius everywhere he has coached but has always overlooked defense.

I’m sure it was pretty serious, as I’m sure he knew that he was costing his team the ability to run out most of the clock by not limping off the field.

I thought we came out of the game ok except for Benny - did he come back in the game?  We never got a replay on that one but obviously it wasn’t like a cart off.

I came here wondering the same. Goode is good but I was wondering if that was Benny up the middle whether he may have gotten Milroe on that scramble. Hopefully guys aren't too banged up for next week. I don't know how they're just gonna do more playoff games. Not like the NFL where you can just sign guys to fill holes.

Hate to see this happen to any kid who has put in the time and work to get this far. Hope he heals up soon.

Injuries are a part of the game, unfortunately. Corum out clearly hurt us last time around. And while the O-line is doing alright, we miss Zinter.

Still going to be a good game. Go Blue!

Sorry for that young man, it sucked that this happened in the last minute of the game and he will most likely miss the NC game. Wish him the best and a full recovery.
