Hail to the Vi…

Big time recruiting is always a strange racket, and the absurd lengths programs will go to recruit elite players is well documented. The vibe I get based on Mr. Nolen's comments is that they are pretty sure they have a handful of schools they plan to focus on and want to catch their breath before focusing their communication with those schools on the list. It sounds like either a neutral, or slight negative (perhaps something on that visit made them feel like it was time to pump the breaks) for Florida, but that's just my conjecture judging by the timing of the development.

I'm assuming there are a few more plot twists coming in his recruitment before he's ready to sign his letter, but such is life for one of the most coveted high school players in America. Michigan should be in good position, but it will be a dog fight until the end for whoever lands his commitment.

Hopefully he has some fun along the way, even though one could totally understand how the process can become overwhelming.

I can't imagine what being a five star is like. It sounds kind of awful, to be honest. I'll have to disagree with the tweet post-Florida visit as a neutral or negative. I think that it's neutral at worst, but probably still a positive. Just imagine how crazy this board would be going if he said this after leaving Ann Arbor.

Hope it drags out and Michigan can have a good shot.

If I was a five star or had a five star kid, I think I'd buy a cell phone that stayed on silent at all times and just served as VM/call screening. I'd give that number to all the schools I didn't care about. Essentially telling them to fuck off without having to answer so many calls to say it outright.

Seems to me this is a classic kid vs parent recruitment. Knowing Michigan, we'll win over the parent while the kid will have eyes for the SEC.

Oops, my bad... I thought this was the Arch Enemies thread.

(jk. Thanks for keeping my hope alive)
