Vote for M-Softball's Sierra Romo for Premier Player

Submitted by MGoBrewMom on
Sierra Romero is in the running for PremierPlayers.com college softball player of the year. Sierra currently has 20% of the vote, trailing Farish Beard from South Alabama (43%) and Ally Carda from UCLA (21%). I don't really know what "Premier Players" is, but I saw this on M Softball's Facebook page, and thought we have a very supportive softball community here, and we could make a good dent in that lead--and if enough people respond, maybe push her to the top! Let's support one of the best (if not THE best) softball player to play for Hutch (her words). Once for our lovely OP (who gets my vote any day!), and twice for Romo (once on my PC and once on my phone).

Let's get the vote going for Romo, she's moved up to 2nd place but trails the Bearded one by a wide margin.

Need to get others going. She is far behind Beard from South Alabama right now. Michigan has to be able to beat out South Alabama.

Michigan softball also picked up Alex Sobczak  from Farmington Hills Mercy .  Sounds like she's a monster hitter in the same mold as Romero.

She's right there with Chiddy as the best offensive prospect to come out of Michigan in at least fifteen years. I've said on here before that I'm just as excited about her coming in as I was about Romo, but we should probably tap the brakes on the hype machine. Romo grew up playing against the top competition in the country and has surpassed my expectations to become perhaps the best to ever play for Michigan. That said, I think Sobczak has all the tools and I can't wait to see what she can do at the college level.

It's also worth noting that two other 2015 players committed to Michigan, Natalie Peters and Faith Canfield, are also total freaking studs. I would say all three are surefire four year starters, but the only non-pitching regular Michigan loses for 2016 is Lauren Sweet. And, quite honestly, I still think they will be four year starters anyway. Romo will be a Senior when this class comes in, and it will be the deepest and most talented team Michigan has ever had.

Done and done. Glad to help out a fellow Wolverine!

As of 7:40 AM EDT, Romero is tied for second at 21% with Ally Carda of UCLA. Right now, the most intriguing name on sound alone - Farish Beard - is way ahead with 43%, so hopefully we can get that "corrected", if you will.

says the winner will be announced in early July, but that the vote ends on June 15th.  With the current gap being 42% to 21%, we'll need a lot of votes for Romo to catch up.  Voting 2x will help, but we'll need a lot more than that to push Sierra to the top.
