UM sports on tap this weekend (Ghost of WD?)

Submitted by scanner blue on August 14th, 2021 at 9:07 AM

The women’s  team takes the pitch at noon against a good Virginia team in an exhibition match for FREE today at noon. They return a lot of veterans (covid year?) to a team that seems to be in the 4th-7th range ( to lazy to look up and don't have Superguide) in the B1G. They return G Nino, mids Stratigakis and Hernandez and forward Wolfe.

The men are in action tomorrow against somebody (no power so can’t use laptop or ipad to look up - will post in comments),  also exhibition, also for FREE. They also have a lot of 5th yrs. and grad students including the duo from Ghana, D- Umar Farouk Osman and F - Mohammed Zakyi. The men are usually nearer the top in the B1G standings often behind IU. They are lead by  Chaka Daley in his 8th year.

Come out on this beautiful weekend! The athletic campus has power and you might be able to charge your phone on the upper concourse. The price is right - $0!

p.s. Truth in posting: I have met Wolverine Devotee many times but I pale in comparison to his knowledge of the “olympic” sports.

Scanner - What device are you using to post? I’m not familiar with any device that can post to a blog but not support a browser for a web search!?

Have a great weekend!

Just an observation, but If an alien decided to read this thread before invading Earth to eat our brains, he or she or they or them would have no idea what sport your are referring to. So I headed over to the UM Composite schedule site to learn this thread is about SOCCER (or football if you are European or Brit).

Talking about Soccer, Ted Lasso is a really good series.

Agree on Ted Lasso which just might've had one of its best episodes, but not so sure about Schmigadoon.

There were lots of great moments in “Carol of the Bells”, the latest episode of Ted Lasso. For those of us who knew Hannah Waddingham only for her portrayal of stone-cold torturer Septa Unella and her role in the "Walk of Shame" in Game of Thrones and not for her work in musical theater in London, we got to hear her belt out Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) during the final scene.

As for Schmigadoon, how could they have Keegan-Michael Key’s character, one of the stars of the show, fall in love with the school teacher and not incorporate a scene in which he becomes a substitute teacher?
