U-M Hockey vs PSU NCAAT - Sunday Open Thread
In calendar 2023 PSU just won their 5th game (5-10-1). May it be the last of this season.
Let's get started on time, make simple plays, go to the net hard, and skate, skate, skate. And stay out of the damn box.
Time: 6:30 PM ET
Watch: ESPN2, TSN+
Listen: Varsity Network audio
Let's Go Blue! Beat PSU! And no majors/GMs/DQs for us, plz!
Musical interlude.
I actually did live in Allentown.
Go Blue!
Same as last game.
Man, the Devils sure love them some Wolverine defensemen.
Go Blue and happy March 26 to all the Red Wings fans!
:D
IIRC, that was long overdue, from the previous season when lemieux nearly killed brown by sending him head-first into the boards during the playoffs. do i have that right?
and no matter what - that was awesome. is there anything like the wings-avs that exists in the NHL now?
It was Draper.
One of the craziest and most entertaining and energizing regular season victories I've ever seen by a Detroit team in any sport. I watched it at a packed westside A2 watering hole and the entire place went nuts when the gloves were dropped.
Frozen Four here we come! Go Blue!!
OSU is losing 2-1 start of the 3rd . Winner of that game will play winner of UM - PSU
I like beating Ohio
Go Blue!
Is the Michigan game still going to start at the bottom of the hour given ohio losing is just wrapping up now?
Down go the Bucks. Good start to the day!
Buckeyes.
Don't let their PR make them seem tougher (fierce beast) than they are (a nut).
Game on!
Go Blue! Beat Penn State!
I want Portillo to get an assist tonight!
We’re controlling play heavily so far. Great start
Long may it continue.
WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA C YA!
Tripping @ 4:53
I am currently on a cruise ship. This is my source for updates for this game. Keep ‘em coming!!
1 min to go in the PP. UM with something like 10 shots to their 1 or 2. The vast majority of UM's chances have been high quality.
You should give the Varsity Network audio link in the OP. I listened to an end of a game in January out of the country. It was pretty good.
Penn State should have been placed in Bridgeport…
Nothing like a road game as a 1 seed.
Too bad they hosted Allentown.
They can't. They are the host club in Allentown so if they make the tourney they are automatically placed there
True, but it’s a stupid rule. If they’re going to allow teams to play where they host, they should go back to having the games on-campus at the 1 seed. It’s ridiculous that Michigan should face a road environment.
No joy.
Love seeing the simplified start to the game there's been a lot more shots with fewer cutesy, dangerous passes so far. This is the way......to Tampa
Heres where I complain about playing a de facto road game as a 1 seed vs the 6th best team in the big ten who is partially here by gaming the pairwise
Should be in AA
Ouch, Luke Hughes took a bit hit.
Shoulder to the chin. 5 mins right?
Contact to the head?
Not challenged.
5 minute major hit to luke's head....? no call. it figures.
Adam Fantilli from the slot - deflected.
PSU with some sustained pressure before grade A chance from Fantilli is deflected out.
Michigans forecheck really giving penn state some trouble. Theyve adjusted some but theyre still having trouble exiting. Not a skill I remember michigan having a ton over the years
Forecheck, backcheck, paycheck
How was that not a trip?!
Trippiest of trips goes uncalled.
