Trying to get out of the 1940s 2nd half thread

After setting basketball back to the set shot era, let’s try to move into at least the 1970s.

Everything I said in the threads leading up to this game was true. Play an average to slightly above average game and we will win with some margin.

To lose, would require a below average or worse game. This team is proving that.

TT isn’t doing anything that special. We are killing oursekeves. No patience early. Worst half of Simpson’s career in 2 years. Iggy very similar.  There are MULTIPLE areas to attack TT. We haven’t done it. And we haven’t made shots.

We should be winning this game and we aren’t. Not good. Who are the two guys that will carry us this half? One will not be enough?

Two straight years of being confounded by switching defenses.

They need to push the ball on every missed TT shot so they can't set up their defense.  Maybe they're trying and I am too illiterate and sleepy to understand right now.

It’s going to take us most of the 2nd half just to get to 30 points.  No way we win this game. No one has any confidence in there shot. Texas Tech is not that great. Which makes that half a complete embarrassment.

I think it will be ok.  Certainly there will be some adjustment at half to generate some points.   I felt good taking the under for this game but never saw this coming.  It can’t last, the points WILL come.  I can’t believe what I just watched, it will get better.

This team failed at every critical/banner clinching moment this year. Just move on to next year. Maybe Beilein will learn how to coach offense again. Maybe Z will learn how to fucking shoot. Maybe Teske will realize he's 7 ft tall.

I have had this same thought a few times this year.  Maybe the focus on defense has gone overboard.

Also, although I love the courage in his game, I think Michigan has a ceiling below conference championship/Final Four level when Zavier Simpson is one of the 2-3 best players on the team.  It worked last year with Wagner, MAAR, a dead-eye shooter in Robinson.  With less talent on the offense this year, Michigan cannot compete with elite teams.
