Today's Schedule of Games

Submitted by M-Dog on October 6th, 2018 at 9:35 AM

It's unusual for us to be on ABC TV at noon for a game like Maryland.

It could be an issue if they have the Kavanuagh vote during our game, which may happen.  ABC News will likely break into the game for coverage.  Hope they at least saved us an overflow slot on ESPN News somewhere.

I'll have an eye on Northwestern at Michigan St at noon.  I'll take a peek at TX - OU if our game gives me a breath.

At 3:30 / 4:00, Indiana at OSU could be a trap game for a minute.  Strange that Florida St. at Miami is now an afterthought.  This was one of the "games of the year" in the '80s / '90s.

At night, I'll be watching Notre Dame at Virginia Tech.  A night game in Blacksburg against a big time opponent puts VT on a completely different level than normal, similar to a white out night game for PSU.

I hope they don't - I watched it all day like a hawk yesterday. Unless something truly unexpected happens, that's all she wrote and there won't be much of anything to break away to (aside from the continued dismantling of our democracy, which I'd rather not watch anyway). I also don't want a flashback to the '94 FInals when I was trying to watch the Knicks but NBC kept breaking away to the OJ chase - bad news I didn't want to watch. I finally got a TV (just moved) and I'm ready to get in some good watchin' today (man I miss the Miami-FSU games of old).

GO BLUE!!!

(we don't live in a democracy anymore, so might as well watch football. Vote in November, though. Make sure to do that).

Easy there, fella.  I was not trying to trigger a debate brawl . . . there are 500 other outlets on the internet for that.

I was just trying to figure out if there would be a TV coverage issue for our game.  And I indeed got my answer - vote is scheduled for well after our game.  So no issue.

So now we can go back to arguing about the topic that is violently dividing our nation:  Why does the freaking SEC have so many teams in the Top 10?

Strange that Florida St. at Miami is now an afterthought.  This was one of the "games of the year" in the '80s / '90s.

That was some great football back then.  The speed of the game was so far above Big Ten play it was like watching two different games.

I was at the '91 Michigan - Florida State game.  We thought we had turned the corner . . . we had a new coach in Mo who was not afraid to throw the ball.  We had Elvis and Desmond.  We were fast and dynamic now, at least by our standards.

Then Florida State came to town and showed us what fast and dynamic really looked like.  We kept it close for a half, but then the wheels fell off.

I still remember that FSU "throwback" play that broke our back.  My seat was in the end zone and I watched that play cover like 75 yards sideways, with us chasing it futilely from 10 yards behind the whole time.

It was humiliating, but the FSU fans were very complimentary about our stadium.  Theirs was just an overgrown high school stadium at that time.

I’m burying my brother in law today at noon. Going to DVR the game but everything else football related will likely be read in game summaries. EOD tech in the Marines and a great human being. He will be missed. He was Blue to the core. Beat the turtles today! Go Blue!

Start time is delayed. No time announced. Alert came through on phone. Looks like a line of storms moving thru around game time until 1 at least. Storms dont look severe and if they are anything like what weve had all morning this is dumb. Futurecast shows redevelopment by 230 pm. Game is in doubt.

Also, don't underestimate the ability of your local weather folk to insert themselves into the game today with the "marginal / green color" risk for severe weather today.
