There Are....
There are....A. J. Henning days until the CFP. 3 days. Say the number in your head. Like the holy hand grenade in Monty Python's Holy Grail (LSA please post that gif/video: "The number is 3. It is not four or five..."). You could think of it today like the holy grail of football that Michigan has accomplished this year. 1. B10 East Champs 2. B10 Champs 3. CFP.
But back to our A.J. Henning. He has been a lightning flash of excitement for us. A 4 star recruit from Illinois and only a sophomore, he is another guy that we are likely to get to enjoy for 4 years. In high school he ran a 10.73 100 meter dash. Muy rapido!
He started off strong this year with a 74 yard rush v. WMU. His kick returns have been electric, the kind that have you on the edge of your seat with his quickness and elusiveness. He has picked up speed through the year and his last three games have each had dynamite plays that we will remember for quite some time. That 81 yard kick-off TD on the throw back by Michael Barrett (!!!) against Maryland had all of us cackling with glee. The next week he opened the scoring v. ohio with that Statute of Liberty end-around, and a second TD later.
Weren't you so excited when the above picture happened that you nearly needed an adult diaper? And against Iowa in the B10 Championship game he had another rush for 29 yards and a couple of electric punt returns. Oh yes, we are blessed to have our number 3, A. J. Henning, a Wolverine with blazing speed and the tenacity to match.
It is just 3 days from now. For those unfamiliar with calendars that is 3 times when the sun comes up and then goes down. There are names for the time periods when that happens. For instance, today is what we call 'Tuesday'. Tomorrow will be 'Wednesday', the next one 'Thursday' and on that third day, well, we're simply going to call it 'Game Day!!!' 3 days. Good luck trying to be productive at work. 3 days only. Only 3 days.
Oh my, the excitement builds.
Go Blue!

It’s a magic number.

One of many players who will introduce Georgia to just how much speed Michigan has. AJ only knows one speed.

Thanks, XM.

You didn't give a last name, so I figured I'd help my fellow LSA out a bit.

thank you. your fellow LSA is a huge monty python fan so he was a logical choice to ask but you filled in perfectly.

Great write up! Thanks for the reminder for what day it is today. I took the last two weeks off of work and have been just chillin. Got a good feeling about beating the Dawgs.

don't you live somewhere in the south, maybe even in georgia? what are you hearing from the SEC friends and neighbors about the game? excitement? smack talk and/or disrespect?

Cliff notes Georgia style
No Qb or receivers to worry about
cant run on Georgia
JT Daniels will play
we’re basically a mix of Kentucky and Arkansas
sec speed and just sec in general
they lost to Bama while we lost to sparty
we only beat OSU because there was a level 3 blizzard and ice storm

I wear Michigan gear around frequently without comment. It's like a non-sec school is invisible to them. No awareness. I'm hoping the Block M is burned into their brains after Friday.

I’ve been wearing my Michigan hat a lot lately. Hear a lot of “Go Blue” and a few friendly uninformed “Big Blue”. A few Georgia fans tell me they don’t think the Dawgs will win and hope we beat Bama. Nothing negative. Such nice people here!

i'm not sure why you keep posting this stuff, since the game is HOLY CRAP, IT'S ONLY THREE DAYS AWAY?!?!?

funny.

My excitement is maxed out, I think it's turning into tension, lol.
I think this game is going to be about whose dudes get off the best, but I'm thinking the most depends on David, Aidan, and who they are going against. If they can get to Bennett, this game is ours.

I don’t think they’re gonna test the edges at all, at least not at first. Which makes Hinton and Smiths roles huge. Bowers is gonna get a lot of quick passes and they hope to never get put in obvious passing downs where the Stetson man has to be a drop back passer. I’d say this game plan is gonna be much like OSU where we keep everything in front of us, yet play much more run stop. Glad I’m not Macdonald this week. Tall order to serve up.

I'm right there also. I was dreaming about the game. We were stomping uga and after half time the dawgs came out and collectively sang "I'd be better off in a pine box" by Doug Stone.

Thanks for the write-up!
Just my personal snowflake, I am so proud of this team and this staff. Regardless of how this game goes, I know these guys will give 100% until the the clock hits 0:00 at the end of the 4th quarter.
There will be no questions about effort, hunger, coaching, or development. If this team loses, it will only be because they were not the best team that day.
THREE DAYS!

This game has biblical overtones. The vile Pharaoh (Georgia) lies on his couch, eating the grapes (weak-ass SEC East teams) and listening to the praise from his favorite eunuch, Paul of BigEars. Meanwhile, the chosen (Michigan, duh) have been wandering in the desert for years and are pissed off. Ain't no Red Sea around, so it looks like we're gonna part that Pharaoh's hair with some well placed pimp slaps. Glory to the Righteous, Blue shall be thy Color!

and the chosen people parted the dreaded red-ohio sea and passed through with might. they then came from the wilderness to the edge of the promised land and there inquired, "shall we go out against our georgian foes?". and the answer came, "they shall be handed over to you, and you shall conquer the scurrilous bulldogs". and so it was that the bulldogs were driven from the field of battle and fled before the maize and blue warriors. and the people rejoiced greatly, and there was merriment and celebration in the land.

Tis the eve of Game Day Eve.

I'm loving these. I remember seeing Henning and getting McDoom flashbacks. I was worried early in the year that he would be a one trick pony that wouldn't be effective against the better competition. I'm so glad those concerns were unfounded. Kid has had a remarkable year, and the OSU TD was a perfect mix of speed, patience, and determination. AJ is a winner!
XM, I'm expecting we have a bonus #2 tomorrow like we did #4. I want to see a gif of the flag being waved and ran around the field. Our unwavering and unapologetic homer and cheerleader. Go Blue!!!

Wouldn’t want to miss anything, but not following you. Who are you referring to?
December 28th, 2021 at 11:46 AM ^
I hope he's spending this month with Harbaugh, learning when to let a punt bounce. Once he gets that down, he might be UM's best overall returner since Stevie B.

These last 3 days are going to fly by.
Great job XM!
Here’s hoping AJ Henning takes one to the house Friday night!
