There Are...

There are....4 more days until we take on UGA.   And the 4's on our roster this year have been notable for their performances.  Vincent Gray is a '4' and his play, like D.J. Turner, has gone from a point of concern to 3rd team All B10.  He has become a reliable shut-down corner and performed exceptionally all game long v. ohio with 6 tackles, his season high.

Dan Villari is a guy who we all can root for, not just because he of course is a Wolverine, but also because he is a 'I'll do whatever it takes to move this team forward' type of guy who we love to think of as a QB in a linebacker's body.  He is the type of guy who is highly likely to stay all 4 years and be a 'glue' guy, a guy that is important as other prospects come and go, and who loves Michigan more than the transfer portal.  We are all very glad to have him on the team and he's like that ax in the glass case at the factory, "Break glass in Case of Emergency" - we might not pay much attention to it day in and day out, but man, when you have an emergency you're glad he's around.  Oh, we also want him to run into people and put their fire out with that big body - kaboom!

Michigan QB Dan Villari's road so far, outlook for 2021 ...

And you know, there is another number 4 on our team.  A great, dare I say, legendary number 4 who has stood in there for us despite enduring an utterly unbelievable and unfair stream of non-stop attacks.  Worse, so many of the attacks have come from within the Michigan camp and fandom.  That number 4 has been a winner at every stop in his life and bleeds maize and blue.  You know that number 4 very well and some were howling to have him thrown overboard but fortunately the powers that be did not act rashly.  Those calmer minds, and every other maize and blue fan, have been rewarded for their calm in magnificent fashion.  Sweet, sweet, and well-deserved vindication and redemption.  That number 4 is also on our team.  Standing at the ready and competing with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.  This is our most important 4 on the roster this year and, likely, for years to come:

See Jim Harbaugh's Michigan Wolverines Victory Over Ohio ...

Today the number is 4.  It is most definitely a great number.  4.

It’s easy to forget that Harbaugh was an absolutely sensational college quarterback.  Stats don’t tell the story, the game was different in the 80’s-he was a great one.

Look at that wind up by that #4. In the Orange bowl interview, he said humility is stopping him but he would be able to compete with these players speed if can get his body from when he was a teenager. I don't doubt one second.

Great job XM

I do remember watching Harbaugh play with total abandon.  If there was any way to win the game, that stubborn son of a bitch was going to try like hell to get it done!

Also, everyone knows that Villari was going to kick OSU's ass last year, if he had the chance.  (BTW, it was awesome to see Harbaugh coaching him up on the sidelines at Maryland, in a 40-some point blowout, after a series in mop-up time...)

Vincent Gray has earned these good words for the way he finished last year, and continued to improve this year.

Vincent Gray, has to be the most Improved player from last year to this year. In my opinion, it's not even close. I'm so excited for the kid. He's worked hard and improved his game and Deserves all the credit !

It took the right coaching , system and hard work  but Vincent Gray is one hell of a player and I'm glad he plays in the wing helmet!

Cheers to all the  #4 . Great Michigan men

Thank you for this post.

Harbaugh indeed was an exceptional college quarterback.  I was a UM student 1983-1989 and watched Harbaugh play throughout those years.  Best memory was a road trip to South Bend to see us prevail over Notre Dame in 1986.

Four… Three… Two… One… TOUCHDOWN Vincent Gray on the pick 6! (In Ufer’s voice)

Can’t wait until NYE! Moved my flight home up two days because I was going to be taking off just before halftime. No way was I missing this game. (And Delta doesn’t have live TV on that particular flight.)
