There Are....

There are.....Donovan Edwards days until we play in the CFP.  Or if you prefer, there are...Makari Paige days until the game.  Either way, the number is 7 and since Christmas is tomorrow you all had better asked Santa for a CFP Championship, even those of you (us?) on the 'Naughty' list.

Edwards has made his way onto the field by finding time when we are already playing 2 of the best backs to ever wear the maize and blue, Haskins and Corum.  Edwards is on the field because he is a phenomenal talent in his own right as evidenced by his breakout game of 170 receiving yards vs. Maryland.  And who will ever forget the single greatest half-back pass in the history of the world?  Up 7-0 in the first quarter, Edwards takes the pitch to the right, pulls up and throws a 50+ yd bullet perfectly in stride for a 75 yd TD pass.  Do you know who can boast of a QB rating of 'Infinity'?   Edwards can.

Meanwhile Makari Paige has quietly been a contributor this year both at safety and on special teams.  Like Edwards, he is a highly rated recruit out of West Bloomfield and we look forward to his growing time and impact on the field.

7 is the number.  The number is 7.  We have two great 7's on the roster and Lord willing, we'll get to see them play in 7 days.

I hope none of you are working today and that you are all spending time with family and friends, getting some rest, and celebrating an important holiday.  It is Christmas Eve, enjoy.

Nice job XM, I'm here unable to sleep, listening to my ipod and reading the blog.

Rick Leach will always be my favorite #7, almost beat a juggernaut osu as a freshman in '75 and then beat them 3 times in a row, twice in toilet (ahem, cooler) town. My favorite being the 22-0 beatdown in '76.

But you're right about the 2 current #7's, they are looking good.

Also, Drew Henson would have been up there had he not allowed himself to be duped by an osu jackass fan in good old George Steinbrenner.

Merry Christmas everyone!

A great thing to wake up to!  Thanks, XM!

And, in other Christmas news - here's JWST rolling out to the launch pad in Kourou, Guyana.  Launch is scheduled for 7:20AM EST.  So tomorrow morning is Christmas Day, JWST launch, and game week officially begins.

I really don't know how Saturday could be any better!

Thanks XM. Seeing bowl games played makes me super hopeful that the CFP games will go on without a hitch. But not without a Hutch!

Hawaii bailed on theirs at the last minute but that’s basically Eastern SE Asia so they have a different mindset.

Seven is also the number of points we’ll get each time we enter the red zone. Although I wouldn’t object to Jake Moody hitting a fame winner either!

Go Blue!

Didn't know XM was back! Daughter (4) came down with Covid thanks to a teacher at school. Wife just tested positive this morning. Long holiday season ahead! Hope the best for all!

Asked for a CFP championship and was told I would shoot my eye out, then he kicked me down the slide. Sounds to me like we end up with one in the end
