There Are....

Mates,

We all know that JWG is the wizard at this, but he unfortunately didn't answer the bat light call for him.  And I got baited into this by 1Whostayed (shakes cyber fist).  The semi-final game vs. UGA is 11 days away.  Also, if we utilize this year's roster there aren't any # 11's, so the best I could come up with is addition by subtraction for two guys who we will miss a ton next year - Jake Moody and Brad Hawkins.  13-2 = 11, and there are 11 days until our game v UGA.  So there you have it.  Go Blue, have a great day.    11 days until UGA gets their come-uppance.

That is some good math and a C+ effort there XM.

Still, good to have you and this segment back, even if as a JWG-proxy.

Edit: Great effort, C+ result. You'll be in A form (as will the team) by the end of this.

It’s actually for my 15yr old son who’s a lot like Corum in the fact that he’s considered undersized and has to work twice as hard as everyone else. Not that Corum necessarily had to do that, but he looks up to him for what he’s done without being blessed with a huge stature. Hoping the Mden delivers for Xmas and it becomes a good luck staple moving forward. Or we sacrifice it should New Years not go our way. I placed the order 3 weeks ago so here’s hoping.

I think JWG should have a few minutes free, at least until a few days before the semifinal when the MMB travels down to south Florida.

Of course there is no number 11. because of the three All-American Wistert brothers. We did get one year of Jordan Kovacs donning the 11 Legends jersey.

TD combo that got our offense it's first score in Big Ten Championship Game.

9 JJ 2 Blake

9+2 = 11

Winning combination.

I love this, and thank you - I'm not sure I'll last the eleven days, but these posts will help.

That said, with all due respect, there's no reason to go through the arithmetical gymnastics, when the Wisterts are sitting right there.

It's a great writeup...my favorite bits are about the last of the three, "Moose" Wistert:

Alvin Wistert, the third brother, was nicknamed “Moose.” Apparently, he was more inclined to physical work than mental activities like going to class and college. He struck his own path and didn’t get the urge to enroll in college until he had worked for a few years and served his country in the United States Marines during World War II.

When Alvin was ready for college he chose to enroll at Boston University in 1946, but transferred to Michigan in time for the 1947 football season. Although it was not unusual for “older” war veterans to play in the late 1940’s, Alvin was no spring chicken in 1947...

(As an aside, I miss the days when you could call someone "Moose.")

Anyway.  Continuing the quote,

He was thirty-one years old when he showed up for Fritz Crisler’s first practice!

(emphasis mine.  also, lol.)

I appreciate any reason to talk about the Groza Award winner. After Indiana, when he had 21 field goals, I looked up the NCAA record for field goals in a season (it's 29 in the regular season, 31 including bowls). He was on pace for 28 in the regular season and 30.3 including the one anticipated post-season game. I thought that was our best shot at making this season one for the ages.

Oops! This team solved the red zone problem and only called on this ice-blooded lad to kick PATs.

Never been happier to be wrong!

11 - Eleven - National Titles

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan_Wolverines_football

Relevant to this team since they have a legit opportunity to rewrite M football history. Or at least add to it.

11 - Eleven - Members of the Offense that will take the field in less than 2 weeks for the CFP.

11 - Eleven - Members of the Defense that will take the field in less than 2 weeks for the CFP.

11 - Eleven - Members of Special Teams that will take the field in less than 2 weeks for the CFP.

Did I mention Meeeechigan is playing in the CFP in ELEVEN days!?!?

Thanks XM!
